By default FSR Frame Gen definitely broken on steam deck. But you can use Uniscaler11 mod to get smooth 50~ fps with pretty high graphical settings and no input lag. After mod integration you can try next ingame settings: 1) VSync: Off 2) Dynamic Resolution Scale: 0ff 3) Upscale Method: AMD FSR3 (if you want to upscale) or Off (if you want to have clear image) 3.1) If you don't use FSR3 Upscale -> use AMD FSR3 Native AA 3.2) If you use FSR3 Upscale -> Use Upscale Quality: Balanced (for performance) or Quality (for image quality) 4) Texture: Medium (WARNING: never use high) 5) Texture Filtering: 16x 6) Shadow Quality: medium (or low if you want more stable fps) 7) Ambient Occlusion: SSAO 8) Screen Space Reflection: High 9) Level of Detail: High 10) Hair Quality: Medium 11) Terrain Quality: Medium (to enable tessellation) 12) Clouds Quality: Low 13) Translucency Quality: High Res 14) Parallax Occlusion Mapping: On 15) Field of View: -6 16) Depth of Field: High 17) Bloom: On 18) Motion Blur Strength: 0 (Warning: never use more than 0, if you use upscale) 19) Lense Flares: On 20) Fullscreen Effects: On 21) Vignette: On 22) Screen Space Shadows: On 23) Sharpness: 1 or any 24) HDR: Off (to avoid flickering) Have a wonderful journey, outcasts!

Would like a side by side with the original on the Deck. Seems to me that the original is better on the Deck, since we have to play the remaster at low settings.

If you did not all ready MAX out the GPU MHz slider, you really should. It smooths out those bumps. I have had great success with Forbidden West. Medium Mix of Graphics settings. Limited to 35-40 FPS. Works Great!!!

On the steam deck screen I can't really tell the difference of low, medium or high. Maybe that's just me.

Just play the old version! Runs perfekt without upscaling on middle settings and looks amazing with 40-50 FPS just the stuttering from time to time sucks, but thats also on windows systems

Thanks for this great video. I played the original untill the end. I really liked he story of the game and it has great graphics. Do you think it is worth 10 euros for the upgrade to the remastered version? Graphics are not really noticable better than the original are they on the steam deck?

Have you tried DLSS enabler mod in DA Veilguard? Game itself is Deck Verified but if you want it to look a little bit better you need to use at least FSR Quality mode and then you get dips below 30 fps. I was wondering if there is any way to use that mod to get frame generation working on the deck.

Mine is non-steam. For steam version there's a work around solution from nixxes. Check it out.

@@jozsefesztan8342 no, I think the built in fsr 3 frame generation works great already so adding a mod to use fsr 3 frame generation shouldn't do much. I might test it and if it does work better I'll make a video.

Wukong built in fsr frame generation sucked, had ghosting and didn't really perform well. But I will check out dlss enabler for this game later.

This game does need to grind a bit and I would rather do that portably. I agree you shouldn't play the whole game on deck. Play some on pc and some grinding parts just play on the couch while watching the news.
