If you listen closely, you can hear the part around 0:55 when the killer starts sawing his victim into bits while the latter is still alive and aware

You don't need to refer to him as "the latter" when you didnt name more than one person. If you said "it" "he" or "she" it is already gramatically correct

The Yale students cello ensamble/quartet will probably prove you wrong, violins are not too useful really. I've played Shostakovich's 8th string quartet doing the viola part on the cello (2x violin 2x cello), and it sounded great tbh. Can't see why 4x cello wouldnt sound awesome. To make things worse, in one perfomance I broke the A string so basically had one string to play the whole viola part till the end 😂 that was... Fun.
