You forgot to hold the button in front of the shifter for 5 seconds before you started your journey. Thats a failure and your licence will be suspended.

Did you not think that the engine might be used in different vehicles hence the valve cover stamping???

As a former flat domestic dealer tech. Domestic cars have been hit or miss for decades. A monday car had different issues than a wedsday or thursday car.

Do you know if this one is for sale? Or has anyone found a 1996 AWD 3D wagon. That one has more airbags.

It’s unfortunate. So much potential, and GM just let early Saturn fall into obscurity.

Heck, I just bought a Versa S 4 speed auto that looks exactly like the one in your video for $4700 cash with 151k miles. It's going to be my commuter. It drives like a big car and has lots of room inside. I'm 48 BTW. My other car is a 2015 Lexus GS 350, but that one is for my wife. I despise the modern overpriced vehicles with all those stupid screens and planned obsolescence tech.

I've always been a Ford in Mopar man myself preferring old school auto technology such as carburetors and rear wheel drive, I hate EFI and front wheel drive. Never could stand Japanese cars or GM either. I always considered the Mopar m-line to be some of the last Great American automobiles... Highway speeds weren't as aggressive back in the '80s so the three speed 904 transmissions wasn't as noticeable a difference back then, you only really bad thing about them was the electronic lean burn carburetor and ignition system. But when they were newer and when they worked well they were actually pretty economic on fuel for a larger car with a V8. I drive an 85 Grand fury ex police interceptor from Daytona Beach and the lean burn system has since been replaced with electronic ignition and a demon 650 4 barrel, she's had a considerable amount of engine work including a more aggressive cam and perform-minded heads and components with long tube headers a fool dual exhaust system and the 904 tranny has been replaced with a four speed automatic with a racing shift kit and she's also got an 8 and 1/4 rear end with positraction. She makes right around 350 horsepower to the rear wheels and is not a muscle monster by today's standards is still so much fun on the highway... this car can really move! With a little bit of work VM body Mopar is a really great car and I wouldn't trade it for any modern car made.

As someone who owns an 2008 XL7 with the 3.6 but the 5 speed Aisin trans like in this (vs the 6 speed 09's XL7's and all 3.6 Torrents and Equinoxes got), and its interesting seeing your thoughts on the trans as its one of my favorite aspects of the car, I dont wanna info dump in the comments like some deranged armchair mechanic but fluid quality and driving habits really makes a difference on these Aisin transmissions, because lazy and meh is not what someone should be using to describe an AF33 5 Speed. in mine its amazing granted it could also be unique Suzuki TCM software and or the fact its paired to a different AWD and a 3.6 not a 3.4 which makes signifigantly more power.

If you take care of of your car it will take care of of you. 🤷🏽‍♂️ bought mine 3 yrs ago. Just started having issues bc of previous bad maintenance. Replaced engine with used one changed plugs coils and it drives like a dream now.

My 86 2 door is great driving around town. 38,000 miles on her and no major issues. No matter where I go someone stops to ask me what it is. Yea it’s not a powerhouse but it will get me anywhere and haul a lot of stuff in the back. No matter what vehicle it is….when it’s this old and all original running down the road it’s cool.

just bought a 2000 Saturn SW2 with 97k miles, Transmission was serviced at 60k and the computer seems to be fine. After seeing yours in way more used up shape. Glad to see how reliable they can be and that they can take abuse. Loving this wagon.
