i have a 2018 cruze hatch and i can tell you this, they are amazing, the gen 2's at least. 188 miles on the odo and the worst problem its had was needing spark plugs replaced

These things were horribly unreliable and a meme in Australia an Europe at least. 2 engines and 3 transmissions in 120,000km from my friends. Common for them to fall out of Park in Auto and manual 1st and handbrake failing leaving your car on the bottom of the hill, yeah I know unusual.

Sounds like your friend was a shit driver. 110,000 on mine no problems yet. Of course I am a single owner, and ive taken care of it 100% to the tee. I think this car is in the price bracket of people who don't really take care of vehicles, thats the only reason why these engines fail. The transmission fail if you have idiots with lead foots. I know because I live next to the largest GM dealership in North America and I've talked to the techs about these things.

@@codejunki567 They bought it second hand was a 1,8 NA with around 30k on it serviced every 10,000km as specified by GM at the Holden dealer (Australia) they used Mobil 1, know another person with a 1.4 turbo, the turbo blew, know service techs and they keep saying how the Cruze and Captiva kept them so busy, by far the worst cars GM brought into Australia during their last decade. So happy GM left Australia and Europe, one less crap brand.
