Both Ruth & Rosemary were “World Turns” alum which was unbeatable during the first days of TV. Rosemary was the headliner of course.

It's amazing. Jack Stauffer "originated" the role of Chuck Tyler before Richard Van Fleet played him. In the UK Joanne Warne originated the Role Of Peggy Mitchell but it was the late Barbara Windsor who made the role her own. She even was decorated by The Royal Family for her contribution to Soaps. I had no idea that Peter White was the Fourth Actor to play Lincoln "Linc" Tyler.

Im about to try to find the beginning of this Soap... I was watcing these in the 80's as a young child. Of course, it was color, but i love b&w shows. Everything was cleanly exciting then. Thanks🌹❤️

"special guest Rosemary Prinz".. ABC wanted her to be showcased, because she had just left As the World Turns, which at the time was the number one daytime show and had a massive audience.

Linc & Amy are supposed to be Phoebe & Charles children but look like they're about 30 somethings...what's the deal with that? Oh, wait - Amy is Linc's wife. Nevermind!😂 Where's Ann Tyler? Oh my gosh! Phoebe has a red bouffant & looks like Myrtle Farrgate! If it weren't for her voice I wouldn't have recognized her!

19:56 They kept those same bay type windows in the Martin living room set for years & years until that fateful devastating tornado 🌪 that tore Pine Valley to shreds- a very traumatic scene for a lot of us faithful viewers I must say. The house was remodeled after that - naturally it just wasn't the same. 😢 I think Ruth's reaction was mixed about the remodel as well. I'd have to see it again.

This is about the time I first saw AMC - stayed home from school in the 10th or 11th grade. It was either ‘70 or ‘71. Watched it off & on for many years and, in the summer of ‘77 when she retired, my mother started watching. She loved the show and watched it until she died in Oct of ‘86. I never really watched it after that.

Nicholas Pryor who later did Damien Omen II and then Less Than Zero with Robert Downey Jr., Then Peter White played him, then played Alan McCarthy in The Boys In The Band (Film Version). William Christian (Ex Derek Frye) played Bernard, and Matt Bomer played Donadl in a Broadway Revival as well as seen on Netflix.

Back in the day - soaps were DREARY and DULL ! It wasn't until around 1977 that they picked up a LOT of speed and trauma-drama- like "Who Killed _____ ?" and such. but back then- it was two people on a couch - filling in DESCRIPTIVE plot advancement : "So (pause) Will Libby have keep baby OR give it up for adoption?" . "Well, you know Donald will NEVER give up their baby - even if they are both 19 years old". "Well I know her mother said SHE would watch it so Libby could finish school" . Etc. Then, one of the characters would go upstairs for 5 months. @@lynlynnielyn9188
