For it to evoke such strong reactions from us knowing what is happening and when it will happen, just imagine how it must have felt for ancient cultures who worshiped the sun as a god

Lord Jesus Christ will return to Earth ground with a eclipse written Matt.24 and Rev.6 not the later Rev.19 coming because that Lord Jesus Christ return is with the saints on white horses no signs shown if anyone notice. The Matt 24/Rev.6 coming is after the rapture Rev.6 which has the signs Sun,Moon and Stars as Matthew 24 also both passages has Lord Jesus Christ being seen by humans. The angels in the four winds. Added Lord Jesus Christ called The Lamb appears with the 144,000 men in the Holy City Jerusalem.

Wow! It is impressive to witness this remarkable project in action. I take pride in my small contributions towards this massive undertaking. I was involved in the manufacturing of some of the fibre bundles used in the HET VIRUS / HPF / LRS2, in collaboration with the team at AIP in Potsdam and the University of Texas at Austin.

What is kind of funny to me is this is through a 16" scope and at a professional observatory. My astronomy club has a 16" Mead LX200 Schmitt Cassegrain type scope gifted to it from the University of New Mexico to make room for their new and bigger one. We found a local state park far enough away from the city so it could have dark skies and a ranger on duty 24/7. They then built a roll off roof shed observatory instead of the considerably more expensive dome type in the video. They conduct free public outreaches once a month at Leasburg Dam State Park North of Las Cruces, NM. There are also members who do research with it as well mainly looking for Near Earth Objects or NEOs.

Well done! Anybody wants to reach the stars. Therefore, we still have one - our Sun! And still we understand so litte of it, while it (or she) is the most and only really important for us!!

We need to come up with a plan to talk to Texas state senate about new light pollution ordinance, not just for west Texas but for our Texas cities as well. I've been thinking about writing a new essay about it for our state and for our country. Many, if not most children in the US do not know what the Milky Way is. The recent revolution in LED lighting technology has created problems that seem worse even than high pressure sodium and mercury vapor lighting problems of the recent past, and metal halide to a lesser extent. The truth is that Mc Donald observatory is not the heart of Texas. Austin, San Marcos and San Antonio are really the heart of our state and the light pollution problems have increased in these places exponentially in the last twenty years. The stars at night aren't so big and bright deep in the heart of Texas anymore. I remember going to Austin in the eighties and you could still make out the Milky Way on the outskirts of town. Further west out on highway 71 in the area of Spicewood Texas, back then, the Milky Way still cast shadows. Those days are long gone. As Ann Druyan once said," We're loosing something so subtly we don't even realize that were loosing it." Or something like that. I believe it is so important for humans to realize that the night sky has been and is still fundamentally important to our future survival on this planet, and is a subtle indicator of our immediate impact on our environment. This is something that we can easily change and reverse the pollution. For the health of all creatures on our planet.
