The SS is better than the SK. I found myself more confident cornering on the SS than the SK. Plus the SKs are colloquially referred to as the Gravel Slings. If you want to know why, just draft another gravel rider (eye protection required). For your use case, the SS is ideal, but for the other 90% of gravel riders the X1 is their best tire to date.

@@DontGetDroppedCycling 45mm seems to be optimal for most gravel riding. Even a 2.1 or 2.2" Cross Country MTB Tire has proven to be a great choice.

last year I got over 2k miles on a set of 38mm GK slick. When I took them off (rear was worn down so sealant was like sweating thru) the front had 5 patches and the rear had 7 :)

@@hamedizzy5137 it was a little joke. For the number - depends on your weight and your muscle type. Some people like mountain climber or TT rider don't have super high sprint but can maintain a very long sustain effort. For Lighter climber type rider 1000W is already difficult, 2000W range is more like track sprinter. Did you calibrate power meter and set crank length properly?

@@benjapolcycling I “calibrate” or reset the power meter every ride and it was set up by a good bike shop I’m riding 170s. I’m sure weight makes a big difference when you’re sprinting and not seated.
