Are those heated pliers for desoldering and soldering or extra heat applied that's not shown in the video? I tried looking up soldering desoldering electric heated pliers but couldn't find anything
@GameConsoleRepairsКүн бұрын
No no, there’s no such thing as heated pliers. We apply heat to the underside of the motherboard at 480 degrees using a heat gun to melt the solder, allowing us to remove the damaged port. Immediately afterward, we solder a new one in place. It’s a very delicate and precise process.

I disassembled ps3 following your video and cleaned it up. I wanted to put it back together, but I found a scratch on the one heat sink, and a tiny piece of metal sticking up because of the scratch. Now I'm thinking about what to do.

glad I found your video, thanks for sharing, I followed and repair my unit, my little one not sure what she did but one of the tiny sprints that goes in the spin mechanism was detached, it was very tricky to attach back, I use captan tape on one side to fix it while moving the other spring leg to its position... wondering how they build it in production lines...

Hello friend, a question, if the reader PCB has been damaged, is there a solution?
@GameConsoleRepairsКүн бұрын
Find a replacement PCB and De-solder NAND-Chip from your Original PCB and Solder it onto the New PCB. It is a very complex process.

it seem missing a spring on center circle piece (spindle) ... i cannot send an image link but on 6:15 second it visible near thumb finger (at the bottom left of the thumb finger), on the opposite side there should be another spring. I know this because I disassembled my disc player and the 6:15 spring is in place, while I found another identical small spring scattered around the chassis. There are two things: either this spring is not needed, or I have a version of the PS5 slim disc player with two springs on the spindle (center circle piece)

Thanks for the video. I am really struggling with this repair. I can do PS5 hdmi port no problem but Xbox S S is giving me issues. When I put the new port on, not all of the pins will stick. Say 4 pins are not stuck so I try to manual solder them but I end up making a mess and joining pins. Any advice?
@Babbages3 күн бұрын
most likely need to get better flux or solder if both of them are good you should be able to just use the drag solder method over all pins and it not stick between em n do bridges i see most using a curved tip on their iron also but i like the knife tip for them also just has a lil more heat and i can use end to come between pins if there is a bridge.

Use Low-Melt Solder like ChipQuik - It definitely helps. I'll try to add a video of the whole HDMI Removal process.

how did you confirm PS button works if no response when you clicked it at 4:40 ?
@GameConsoleRepairs3 ай бұрын
If the PS button does not work - then, It's a Bad Conductive Film or bad PS button Conductive rubber - sometimes it could be a Burnt Track on the Motherboard. Step # 1-Find the model of Your PS4 controller, order the exact same conductive film and conductive rubber, and carry out the replacement. If that doesn't work, then there is a burnt track on the motherboard.

hi, it's also OK for Hakko FM-204 desoldering station ?
@GameConsoleRepairs4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't suggest using this video as a guide for the FM-204 Desoldering Station. Instead, it’s best to watch a tutorial specifically for the FM-204, as it's a different station with different components. However, you can still apply some of our cleaning techniques, such as: Ultrasonic Cleaning Flux Residue Removal Process.
