So, did your boyfriend transmit the infection to you, or was it through a casual encounter with someone else at university? Have you considered legal action? Did you discuss the situation with the individual involved? On a related note, as a man, how can I approach the topic of HIV status with a woman I want to connect with in a respectful way, without making the conversation uncomfortable? Ideally, it would be great if people were open about their health status before becoming intimate, sharing lab test results, or even visiting a clinic together beforehand. Unfortunately, this approach doesn’t seem to be common. As a man, I would be happy to have an open discussion about health before becoming involved, but many women seem to prefer a more spontaneous connection rather than something planned. If I asked them to go to the clinic with me or share their test results, they might take offense or distance themselves, which is unfortunate. They might feel that I’m questioning their trustworthiness or character, and as a result, I might lose their interest. Why does this tend to happen? Wouldn’t it be more beneficial for everyone if people were upfront about their health, got tested together before becoming intimate, and shared the results? I’ve read that there is a biological tendency for women to prefer spontaneous encounters rather than planned interactions, which sometimes makes such conversations more difficult. However, this desire for spontaneity doesn’t align with the need to protect ourselves from sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, which are present in society today. Maintaining health and satisfying the desire for spontaneous connections seem to be in conflict. To stay safe, we need to discuss these matters openly-plan for testing and discuss health before becoming intimate, even if it feels uncomfortable. How can I navigate this balance, ensuring that I meet a woman’s desire for spontaneity while also protecting my health? How can I do this without causing discomfort or scaring her off? I believe it’s essential for people to recognize that it’s not just acceptable, but necessary, to discuss health before becoming intimate-ideally before, not after. Please help me reconcile this issue, because I want to connect with as many beautiful women as possible, every day, all day long-but at the same time, I don’t want to get infected with something and have to take medication for the rest of my life. This issue of not knowing how to approach this health balance and spontaneity is what stops me from engaging intimately every day with a new woman all day long. This issue is the only thing that stops me.

I think it would be better for women to keep things about themselves private. It's nice that you came out about your experience. Everyone needs to get tested, when with a new partner. Use protection.

I just took a test…..not gonna lie tho I’m glad I did take it. You gotta ask your local (county) health clinic or doctor for the test but honestly if you ever had unprotected sex or oral/anal. Please get checked yall, I know it’s scary push through it have someone go with you. It’ll be okay I swear one way or another.

She made a very good point to the stigmas people hold. She said, sexually she’s safer to be with than most others. Shes gets physicals and bloodwork done in 6 month intervals.

Why doesn’t she want to find out who gave her it? The uni should have made it their business to get the students all tested because although she is undetectable, the person who gave her it obviously isn’t, and if they will pass it onto her, what’s stopping them from passing it on to others
@elliestayingpositiveАй бұрын
Hi, no one at university passed the virus onto me, and the person who did is aware and is on medication. You can’t force people into tests, it needs people to be more self aware.

Wow, I had so many misconceptions about HIV before watching this. I always thought it was something terrifying and life-ending, but your video completely changed my perspective. The way you explained everything was so clear and empowering. Now I feel inspired to spread awareness and educate others who might still hold the same outdated beliefs I did. You've made a huge impact with this video-please keep creating content like this. You're truly making a difference!
