awesome dude, I truly really enjoyed this. Do you know where I can find beginners ska trumpet licks? Or good tutorial about scales to use to improvise and when?

Hi!! Sorry for the late response. I don't have any music education things published but I can do a lesson on zoom. Could you email me? I can give you a lesson quite possibly. robbiegtrumpet2 @ gmail . com

I look cold! lol - on edit; the sustain pedal wasn't working so I had to play the last chord again and hold it down manually.

I thought it'd be something easy like I can't give you anything but love, lol. I don't think I've ever heard this song. What decade is this song from?
@robbie_g_trumpetАй бұрын
Hi, there are a lot of cover versions of this song! I believe it was a broadway show tune type of song written in 1928 but jazz artists like John Coltrane played it.. I think that's how I learned it a bit was through Coltranes recording - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2aad5KIopirf5Ysi=paHtrnwv4kp_yg9p . What do you play? and how long you been playing and what standards do you like to play? Thanks for your comment.

@robbie_g_trumpet Man I wish I were able to play an instrument! I'm simply a jazz enthusiast. I listen to a lot of songs from the 20's thru 40's. 50's as well, but not so much. I have many favorite songs, but a couple of my favorite standards are "the nearness of you", "star dust", "after you've gone", and "laughing at life" to name a few.

@@eustace8520I would look up the local jazz scene in your area.. even if it’s one little bar one hour away where musicians play jazz standards… you’ll find out some more info like what’s a really cookin

Greetings from Toronto, Canada in October 2024. Hey, this is a really great video. I love that you included a section where the listener can improvise. I had fun with that on the M-AUDIO keyboard that's connected to my Mac. I love your tone. You mentioned that you're getting a newer, brighter trumpet. I hope you're not trading in your Adams A4. You have such a soft and warm sound...like a flugelhorn. I hope you can keep both horns. Anyway, thanks for the best 5 minutes and 35 seconds of my day.
@robbie_g_trumpet2 ай бұрын
@@waynetorontomusician8172 heck yeah! I’m so glad you got to express your improv for 5 mins and 35 seconds. This is exactly the point.. to let it rip. So keep it up, keep groovin and sheddin and it will be all good ‼️💯💯🙏 Yeah I go thru phases and want to change to a bright horn and lighter and then go back to a darker heavier trumpet after a couple years or so again. I promise to make some new videos with the 43 however and I appreciate the positivity. Sincerely.
