Here is Lionel and Kenny performing a duet of the song, before Kenny's passing (RIP). You can truly see in the video, just how much they were true friends. Here is that performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXqVdKmCa7qMrKc

I had the forever my lady album for almost a year before it came out! Freshman year of college 1990/ 91 & still in 92 .... that shit was the shit you had playing in the background in the dorm room smashin!!! FUCK boys to men!!!! ijs.. had to throw that out there... then the Mad Band hit. those 2 albums are VERY different. YES.... the production & song writing & song selection was better..they had to find their audience & their lane! They aren't the fast uptempo song group. All the fast songs they had on the 1st album didnt suck but they sucked. They werent good radio songs. Al B. Sure still had a lil smoke, R.Kelly was droppin heat, Guy had heat, BBD was on fire & boys to men was the clean alternative to Jodeci. They all do uptempo / fast music & slow stuff, it works for them. Jodeci is the slow jam & slow to mid tempo r&b group. A softer type or r&b porn when compared to r.kelly but defiantly more niggahrish than boys to men. You''d let ya daughter go see boys to me but not jodeci... thats for sure. The Forever my lady video is classic..... they in the desert sand with black combat boots on singing..... aint no women in the hot ass sun tho. 😂😂😂 Once they figured out that the "forever my lady" single was it, the next project was the evolution of that discovery.... if you one of those this album was better than the other album type of person...

I remember this track well as a teenager.... this was the ultimate panty-remover ----- the 80s and 90s were great. Thank you La & Babyface!

I love it when the younger generations decide to open their horizons to older music, they suddenly realise that today's music in the main is shite compared to what was happening, especially in the 70s and 80s. Tunes were on point during those 2 decades.
