I used a hero max next to my screen which i shot a mixture of 360 and standard footage. TBH I didn’t bother with 360 for my second trip to Ireland as it just adds another layer of pre-edit before the edit 🥵 Off to Norway in two weeks on the bike so hopefully serious 3 coming soon.

Not that time, I left Rimini and headed to Sarnano to where my uncle has a house so through the mountains and then south diagonally to Termoli. It’s on my list to go back and cover more areas as I really enjoyed Italy. I will try and hit that area next time 😇😇

Fair enough, I was doing this as a favour for the Standing with Giants team who wanted a bit of record of the installation. It was only my second time out with the drone, the first being my earlier visit. I will be watching your restored footage, very impressive work!

@@simondawson81 I was there 4 weeks ago. Originally I planned to deploy a drone there too, but all the maps show that drones are forbidden along the D-day coasts (even the <250 gram ones), unless I got that wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love your video. I stood there with tears in my eyes, looking at the emotional silhouets display. I am currently editting my own visit, mixed with 1944 footage and intend to use "I vow to thee my country" as background music (after having searched for hours on Epidemic Sound for copyright-free sad music, but gave up).

PS, do you maybe have any unused drone footage of flying over the silhouets (e.g. ca. 5 to 10 seconds) that I could use (including crediting your channel)?

I had permission to fly organised by the Normandy Memorial so luckily I was ok. I am more than happy for you to use as much of my footage as you like. 😇

Thanks, I’m waiting to to see the lap times because I felt much better about 3/4 laps in as I found better lines and got into a bit of a grove. I currently ride a 2018 KTM 350exc. I have a 450 mx bike which is a beast! You ride?

The HOG “Harley Davidson Owners Group” escorted the stillages containing the silhouettes from the UK to Normandy so felt they played their bit.

BTW .... I attended the Normandy 75 year , there was a C-47 special at the airport nearby Omaha Beach ..we stayed there for 3 days ..was great and sad at the same time ....strange feeling of Freedom on that beach

@@simondawson81 don’t be disheartened, sometimes it takes a while. Keep them up, one day you’ll look at them and you’ll see it’s exploded in views overnight. The content is great, look at thumbnails and titles if you do want something to work on, the videos themselves are awesome :)
