Is it completely necessary to replace the original tabs? Since the focus tabs are taller, i wonder if those would leave more space for the larger sunglasses to fit.

I thought the same but when fitted into the headliner they don’t sit quite right. Would have been nicer if it had worked that way. I can tell you though that 7 months on it still works well

Where did you get the roof box from as I’m after one for my Discovery 4? Yours seems to colour match!

I got it from the roof box company. It’s just gloss black though, not colour matched. The dirt matches it up! www.roofbox.co.uk

Parts needed for this job: LR071146 Lower Steering Column QYG500110 steering column bolt QUG500100 steering column bolt Tools needed: 3T trolley jack, axle stands, E10 Torx female socket, 10mm socket, 400mm socket extensions. Wheel brace and torque wrench

I've had my SDV6 about 22 months, had the belt service done by JLR £1250, rear brake pads & a few other bits with the next service £450, then have just had both Inlet Manifolds replaced, drivers side had a small split, so I've gone Aluminium ones £400 & fitting with a few bits £950. My mechanic had never heard or seen the ally ones but now he will offer as an option as he was very impressed with them. Drives so much better, better than when I first got it. Apart from that she has been superb. Got it on 115k, now 131k
