I saw your reply to my other comment about that type of pole that I saw at a club that rocks back and forth like a video game joystick. I don’t think it was a spinning pole, but it ‘whipped’ back and forth at its base. The dancing/acrobatics I saw for it was a unique style, the performer actually twisted over THE TOP of it, which is something that would be impossible with a regular pole, since this pole was very short, maybe 5 ft tall? And it was very thin, maybe 30mm or 35mm. I can’t find anything online about it, it might be a specialty thing that was custom made? But the dancer new it well. The closest thing online to it that I could find was an arial ‘flying’ pole. However this pole was firmly anchored to the ground. The defining trait was that it ‘wobbled’ or ‘whipped’ back and forth like a video game joystick, if you’ve ever played a video game. Have you ever heard or seen of such a thing? Could you look into it? I’ve tried to but couldn’t find much. I’m desperate because I KNOW I’m not going insane lol 😂

@PoleFreaks4 ай бұрын
@@biancaflores4003 ooh that’s a tricky one! It is pinchy but stops hurting after a few attempts (over a few days!) The less you move around on the pole, the less pinchy it is so try and find a really good inside leg hang position for the inside leg so it’s locked in and you don’t need to readjust. Hope that helps!! And breathe!

Have you heard of this type of pole, you might not consider it a ‘real’ pole because you can’t do these types of tricks in it, but I think it’s called a ‘swivel pole’ and they are usually in the center of tables in certain ‘clubs’. They are only 5 or 6 feet tall, and they swivel because of a ball bearing at their base, like a joystick . I don’t think they can support the full weight of a body, and I think performers use them as a tool to do ground work or twe rking around, and as an aid to get up. I also think they use them to do ‘pole vaulting’ type moves,(because of their swiveling capability ), similar to Olympic pole vaulting (lol), but on a much smaller scale obviously and with somersaulting and fan kicking as they do it. Do you know of any tutorials on how to do these ‘vaulting’ type moves on this type of pole?
@simon4bellyd4nce4 ай бұрын

0:28 What position is that?? lol. I often find while transitioning from one position to another, those in-between positions you must contort your body into temporarily in order to transition from one position to another, are very pretty in-and-of themselves if you were to freeze and spin with them! and since they can be all kinds of crazy shapes, there is most likely no name for them, so its a great opportunity to 'discover' a new pole move that you get to name!
@PoleFreaks4 ай бұрын
@@-jank-willson I guess it’s a trapped straddle?? I agree completely! That’s how I often find moves for photoshoots - I edit videos and find little in between moments that I love 🥰
