Living in Kitchener since last year but commuting daily to Cambridge where I have a pack and ship store. Having moved from Mississauga where I lived for 6 years, the light traffic is definitely a plus! We live in Huron South which is not downtown, and enjoy the peaceful life there while not missing the convenience of amenities a larger city can offer.

Good videos, Kevin. Colonial Acres is separated from Colonial Estates by its northern greenery belt from Davenport to Bridge Street that weaves like a stretched-out, reverse italicized, Cyrillic letter и. You’ll see what I mean if you were to open an iPhone iOS’ driving map app; only walkways connect the two subdivisions. Colonial Estates’ homes started to be built in the later half of the 1980s; whereas, Colonial Acres started to be built earlier. We built two homes on Sandringham; seven homes on Stonebury; and, one home on Wissler. Post-Colonial Estates Fun Fact: The next subdivision that was built was the Eastbridge subdivision. The land was sold by an Edmonton, Alberta entity for CAD$20 million to Toronto developers. They did a good job creating a whole new character and community; very well done.

As for Maple Hills, we (family) were just about to build a home for ourselves on Culpepper, in 1979, on a hill over looking the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, but the purchaser of our home reneged on closing. Lawyer explained the courts would rule in our favour , but we were not going to force anyone because of a contract, even though we had already moved out of the home and prepared to build in Maple Hills.
@kevinamorimrealestate2 ай бұрын
Thanks you, I am glad you are enjoying the videos. I realized when I was editing that I had I made an error on the age of construction. Stoneburry is a great street as well, I think the 80s was the pinnacle in terms of build quality and the lots were a little larger, the architects at that time had more freedom to build more unique homes. Thanks for the fun fact there, those developers did a great job as well.

You have to factor in all the extra costs from the disgusting water. You need a water softener with multiple bags of salt, a reverse osmosis system so you can drink the water. Also you willbe constantly changing your valves and taps in the house. Yes the water is disgusting.

@michellel1586 to start Cambridge, Ontario, was officially formed in 1973 through the amalgamation of four smaller municipalities: Galt, Preston, Hespeler, and the Blair village. Galt was an important center for manufacturing, Galt was the first area settled back in the early 1800s. Preston and Hespeler started developing in the mid-1800s.

@kevinamorimrealestate4 ай бұрын
@Cerebros100 East Galt is tough. Some streets are great , but not so much. Street like Walnut Street, maple ridge, walnut lane I would say, are the worst streets. The close to Dundas, the better in general, but then again, there are a lot of great properties that are being renovated closer to the water.

Take back your freedom , just do it , never ask your servants , just do it , worry about forgiveness later never ask permission, do as much as possible on weekends , servants never work weekends . I’ve been convicted of building without a permit years ago, $300 fine and get a permit, never called for one inspection, built and sold the property. Freedom takes work but if we all stand up and stop being sheeple , always remember they are our servants and need to be reminded as often as possible. REVOLUTION FOR FREEDOM !!!

What I am thinking the house you buy here in Canada is basically paying the paycheques of bureaucrats and profit to financial institutions. Because you would never own the land and whenever government needs the property for their use they can come and take it from you. So screw this country.

Yup, that’s about it! Our property taxes is basically just rent to sit on the land.

A guy I worked with owned a piece of land that his family had trailers on. It was in the family for years. He decided he was going to build a house on it for his retirement. Him and his wife sold their house, and made an absolute killing on it, who h was going to fund the building of the house, with a surplus. The township hit him with fee after fee, and tax on top of tax. Permits, inspections, having to do things twice over, more fees, more taxes, more red tape. The governmental hoops cost him more than the materials to build an 1100 square foot house on land he owned free and clear. The last I heard, I was not linger able to retire, and was facing g the prospect of a mortgage again. I wanted to build a house myself, but after hearing his plight, it put me right off. At the end of the day, even if they made it easy, and you could build your dream home, you'd still be in Ontario, nestled firmly in the bosom of the ruins formerly known as Canada. Why would anyone want to invest in this place? I can't wait for my visa to come through so I can get the hell out of this dump.
@kirkboivin43574 ай бұрын
Sounds like everybody even remotely involved is going to have their hands in your pockets. Why would you put up with that? 😢
