@tubedigga I'm following your video step by step, since it's my first time ever using an mpc, and at 0:44 my mpc doesn't do anything when I try to match the tempo this way. I've watched and tried a hundred times, but the sample staysbthe exact same every single time.. any ideas? I even tried loading a brand new project and setting the tempo to 170 and still nada.

Late with this comment: 23:51 cue preview takes a grain/bit of the sample your cursor is on and plays it back. Before ‘listnens’ to the bit before your cue line. You can judge if the cue line is on the right end point. After ‘listnens’ to the bit after the cue line. This way you can hear if your cue starts the way you want.

Now that disc streaming is a thing I tried my MPC One as a media player for the tracks I can't get on vinyl. Just put a track on a pad and If you use one q-link for global semi tone adjust( set range to -4 / + 4), another for fine semitone adjust and a third one also with fine adjust but at a momentary setting. The momentary fine adjust can act like a push / nudge as you would do with a turntable. It is not great of course but I managed to do some beat matching with this.

I am concidering an akai force but since I make 90's sounds only I am actually thinking to get the mc909 since the workflow & sound looks amazing , you have experience with both , is the workflow actually better on the mc 909 ? looks like it ^^
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 25 күн бұрын
@@tengria23 They are totally different machines in all aspects. The workflow is better on the Force in my opinion. Whilst the 909 is great, sample management is clunky and you have to be on top of renaming samples and organising them which is time consuming. The effects are good but limited as is how they are routed/allocated. Another issue for me is being aware of the order of saving patterns and patches as you can easily loose one or the other if you don’t consistently save them. Great machine but the Force is far more advanced in every way.

Aloha, I really respect your knowledge on both the MPC Live and the DJS-1000. I have been thinking about replacing my MPC Live with the DJS-1000, but now especially with this new fantastic firmware update, I want to keep using the MPC Live with my DJ sets although the DJS-1000 seems easier to navigate. I record audience responses and mix those into my set, and I was thinking that the DJS might be better for this but with the new MPC firmware maybe I can use them together for both live sets, and for content creation. Please let me know what you think, and I will check out your course. At $45 that's a deal that I will for sure get.

Just saw an older video (6 yrs ago) from "In the Studio Live" who was combining the MPC Live with the DJS-1000 and a mini keyboard. He was using CDJs, and I have the DDJ 1000 so I will use Ableton sync to keep them all together. I am also using the MPK249 keyboard as well which adds even more pads to the mix, but mostly I use the keys. I hope you can put something out to show how to best use both the DJS with the MPC together. Maybe I can show what I come up with here on KZbin. Thanks.

@@garyusinger I no longer own the DJS, it was on a short term loan from Pioneer DJ about 5 years ago so I can’t recommend it as although it’s a great machine, I don’t ever see anyone talking about it being updated to any degree. Mpc is the way to go I reckon. 👍👍

I hope somebody can help me. When I record an OP-X4 sound that has delay into my sequence and I switch the delay to another setting, everytime I press the double tap stop to stop the sequences sound from drawing out too long, it resets the whole delay setting back to it's default state. If I switch the delay setting on 8D, and if I play the beat and double tap stop to stop the entire sound from playing, it resets it to 4D. Does anyone know why it is doing this? Please help? Is it a tempo issue or there something with this plugin that I'm missing? It doesn't do this with other plugins. Why this one? Anybody? Please, Thanks

@@natanmandala The OPX 4 has a ton of matrix settings. Check them all to see if the delay time is being modulated/automated by one of them.
@natanmandala

@TUBEDIGGA The sound is under Plucks in the OP-X4 called Bell Zen. Just try it once to see what I mean. It's only resetting the delay time signature from Delay 8D back to Delay 4 on the FX1 tab when I quickly double tap stop to stop the sound and reverb tails from continuing. If I just press stop, it doesn't reset the delay time signature to it's default Delay 4 setting state on FX1 page. It will stay on the setting I put it to. It's only when I quickly double tap stop, that it resets all of the Delay time signatures. It's very bizarre and strange, and I am so in the habit of double tapping the stop button, that I'm never going to get used to just pressing stop once. It has to be a bug of some sort, because I am still here trying everything to get it to not do that? It doesn't do it on any other plugin but the OP-X4? If anyone else reads this, please help? Thanks

Hi Tubedigga, thank you for this tutorial. I'm trying to follow step-by step this tutorial, but stuck on matching 'from bpm' tempo/pitch. Global is set to 170, detected hot pants tempo is 114.34, but when I hit 'from bpm' and 'match' nothing happens, tempo and pitch of hot pants stays unchanged. The same happens later on with amen isolated samples when trying to match their detected tempo to global 170. Is this a 3.4 bug or am I missing something?
@TUBEDIGGA

@@jackiechan2687 There is a bug in MPC 3 where you have to press in the top left of the screen and re-select the sample in the editor to bring it in to focus. Then the from bpm feature should work correctly.
