@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 7 күн бұрын
@@ForrestBells Are you using MPC 3? If so there was a bug that was stopping this feature from working. You have to press in the top left of the screen in sample edit mode to re-select the sample which brings it back into focus. Then from bpm will work. In either MPC 2 or 3, I wouldn’t worry about the detect part of it. From bpm will do that for you anyway as long as you’ve trimmed your sample to an extract amount of beats. As long as you can enter in the beats field, then your MPC will know how many the sample contains.

I've been digging into this for the last few weeks, to be honest I think it's the best synth available on the MPC. Even more enjoyable than the Jura or mini D. It's a shame most people won't spend time with it because FM synth isn't easy.

Cant you get sounds like this pretty easy in Granulator plug in?
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 10 күн бұрын
@@othelo989 Kind of but not really. I like Granulator a lot, particularly for the freeze functionality. But with the mix amount halfway it just ends up sounding like a granular processing plugin, which it is. I prefer to create glitchy experimental sounds from the ground up, for me it’s more rewarding and I always learn new things along the way. I’d rather take the time programming something in detail than merely slapping an effect on it and doing it the easy way.

5 years later and still no true multitrack looper. Lol. Yet, my 250 ipad does it with ease! Go figure. There is no better multi track looper than that of ipad and looper software. Add granular app, omg. Best thing you will ever do. Mpc w ipad make for endless options.

Apparently the keygroups have removed the ability to assign individual parameters to each section/key, everything essentially becomes a global parameter Which is a massive fail if true Did you pick up on this?

Nice video. Certainly Keygroups is much more powerful now 👍 Can you tell me does MPC 3 allow latching of looping samples on individual drum group pads (a la Sp404) or do you still have to use your handy workaround with Transpose value change on track menu ? Thanks 🙏
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 13 күн бұрын
@@kenb7540 MPC 3 allows you to loop one shot samples for a maximum of 999 cycles / repeats. For example a 4 second loop set to repeat 999 times will give you around 65 minutes of continuous looping.

Is this still the only way to latch looping samples per pad on the MPC - even with MPC 3.0 ?
@TUBEDIGGA
@TUBEDIGGA 13 күн бұрын
@@kenb7540 A new loop feature was added in MPC 3 for One Shot samples. Looping samples have only ever been possible in Note On mode, but now you can choose a ‘Repeat’ amount for One Shots. The parameter is on the far middle right of the samples page in the program editor. As an example, a 4 second loop set to repeat 999 times (the maximum value) will last for around 65 minutes.

Loving that write automation work, never really thought of sound design in that way! This release makes me want to sell the Force and go back to the MPC One. With Akai dropping the Force hardware it’s now hard to believe they’ll bring some of the QoL updates and these keygroups back to the Force. Unless Force mk2 is coming. Not cussing Akai here like many YT comments, business is business.
