You guys should get a video editor to work on these live streams and make them more fun to watch. Lots of dead air and transition time could be cut. Otherwise awesome. 👍🏻🇺🇸
@EAAIAC2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! The Live stream is intended to have video for the judges in the event that they would need to conference on a score for a maneuver or set of maneuvers. So, there will be a lot of "dead air" since the cameraman continues filming all day so as not to miss any flights. We have added on some commentary to help those at home watching their family and friends. This is not a production sportscasting type video. It is an amateur sporting event run by volunteers. We would be interested in accepting sponsorship that would enable us to hire a video editor though. Contact Nationals organizers at www.iac.org/natoinals if you are interested in supporting the LIVE feed in 2025.

I wish the public had more information about this event. Publicity in Salina, KS was lacking. Are members of the public able to see the airplanes up close on the tarmack, visit with pilots, ask questions of "people in the know"? I came out today to Fossett Plaza but could not see much. I should have brought binoculars. I met others who wanted to know more, just not much information.

Right? Last year, I was hearing the acrobatic planes for days and didn’t know 100% what it was all about. I thought they just used Salina’s field for training.

as a participant of this competition, i can see both sides. however bringing in the entire public to these competitions could be quite dangerous to peoples property and airplanes. you never know people’s intent and it is hard to close off certain parts of the competition when planes and competitors are constantly moving around

There were two TV stations out at the airport this year interviewing. The Contest Director also was on the radio explaining the competition. We work with the airport and give them content for articles they print in their monthly newsletter. The IAC has two Instagram and three Facebook pages and tags #VisitSalina. Let us know who else can help us spread the word. Thanks!

I am looking for the Intermediate Power Know sequence but the IAC site isn't showing the same sequence as are being performed. Could someone point me in the right direction, please?

Also just watched a few seconds of the live feed, completely SILENT and recorded on a hand held camera. When the aircraft are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars? It's baffling.

If anyone cares, Red Bull would do a good job of packaging this event to be, you know, interesting to watch. Like NASCAR or whatever. Close ups of the pilots, interviews & profiles, on board footage, commentary, spectators aka fans, technical insights, judging rules, scores... A static camera strapped to the control tower pointing in the direction of the apron and a list of pilots obscuring the scene...meh.

I'm sorry. But I was brought up with old school aerobatics! I'm sure this statement will get a Lot Mad! But too damn bad! These new pilots depend on pure power, what would happen if they tried this routine dead stick?? Can we please bering back real Aerobatics???

Check out the full playlist from the 2023 US Nationals: kzbin.info/aero/PLdVqOIuzYwKzX1B7wT0hHtePnof3ZLM4p. Pilots from multiple categories including, Power and Gliders are flying Primary, Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced and Unlimited. There were many types of aircraft being flown including a variety of Pitts Specials, Decathlons, an RV-14, and a Giles 200. Of course, a variety of gliders, which have no power at all... ;-)

They were all great! Rob is just on another level! His record speaks for itself and how incredible he really is. Rob Holland and Sean Tucker have always been my favorites at airshows. What those guys can do with their airplanes is crazy like you're watching an R/C airplane. All of these pilots are incredible and I still wonder how their bodies can handle the maneuvers they perform. Great flying by all!

I thought that in the Four Minute Free the pilots also had to blend music into the routine
@EAAIAC11 ай бұрын
Yes, there was music. The speakers were not close to the camera, so between that and the wind that day the camera could not pick up the sound.
@echassin6 ай бұрын
Music would have been better. IMO the commentary didn't add much and if anything it detracted from the flights. Best would be to hear only the engine/prop.
