That sounds mean AF. For people not wanting to pay Monomachine prices, this is a good alternative. I used to have the v1 of these (in super rare green case) and I like how unique it was but never could get it into my tracks for some reason. Nice video.

@@sottx8268 those are Westminster chimes, and the sound of them gives it away. If they were returned, a little randomly, it wouldn't be obvious.

I know it's been 4 years since you posted this video but I only came across it today. Can I ask you about where you put the piezo? I notice that there's a grey box with a volume knob on it at the back of the Sound Board, is this connected to the piezo as a volume control and is it passive? Thanks. This has been an inspiration to me for building my own. I had been thinking I had to use a box and not just a board so it's simplified the whole construction process.
@calutron8288 Жыл бұрын
Hi John, thanks for watching and commenting. About the piezo: You can see black duct tape running from the box with the volume knob to another grey box in the center of the board. Beneath this smaller box is the piezo. Under the duct tape is the cable from the piezo to the box with the volume knob and the cable plug. It's that simple. I bought some cheap piezos with volume control and 6,3 mm jack plug online. They're passive. I also built a metal box in the past. But I prefer this simple board because you can reconfigure the whole setup anytime. And in my opinion wood sounds better than metal as basic material.

I was looking for a demo that would make it sound worth the investment... and there I FOUND IT!!! Thanks for your video. I feel like this synth is just perfect for film score, but at the same time it's so versatile it can do much more than that! I'm scared they'll discontinue it before I have time to spare and buy it... gaaaaargh I MUST have it !! !

I can't say anything bad about this synth. It's built like a tank, sounds great, it's fun to use and so far I didn't discover any bugs in the OS or elsewhere. And the user interface design is remarkable: This synth makes you interact with it and invites you to play and experiment. To me that's a very important point. Ha, ha, sorry if I stimulate your appetite even more.

Best bang for buck imo. Great demo. The hydrasynth also has an amazing arpeggiator to which can be assigned "phrases" in other words patterns. The lfos can be either wave shapes, or steps. It's also the least menu diving with the most features. Extremely intuitive mod matrix and interface in general.
