Do you think this is something I can do while attending nursing school or no?
@TheDanielleDeniseАй бұрын
Nursing school demands a lot of students. I do know a few people who worked while in school but I would say its a personal preference, and that's with choosing to work any job while simultaneously in nursing school. But if you're looking to get the certification and the studying required for RBT while in nursing school, I would personally say focus on nursing studies, because RBT certification studying might take time away form nursing studying and a lot rides on doing well in nursing school. If you're just talking about doing the job of a behavior tech it can be done, but again personal preference, and most people I know that did work didn't work full time.

I just had my final interview (minus the shadowing because there was not enough time, as it was an end of day) I'm hopeful that I can get the option as my family has always thought that I have signs but no actual diagnosis of autism.

The only thing that changes the situation and helps is the boss/head nurse that will protect you. There is nothing else that can help. It doesn't mean someone has to make an argument for you - it's about not letting this situations to happen and recognize the bullied one.

male nurse here for apprise 20 years; I'm good at what I do and enjoy my patients however, by far the biggest challenge has been the rudeness and bullying of nurses themselves.

Nursing is brutal competitive and down right at times shameful. Honestly it trickles down from adim and the don.and the adon.if they are cold and don't care for the staff then it will be an unhappy work place and no one more or less gets along ! The do have clicks like high school . I found if you just go to work do your work and don't talk unless you have to it should go pretty smooth . Even after proving you are more then capable things can get ugly if you piss of the ones that seem to be favored alot of nurses get fired for pettiness!! I called it nursing politics . And if a facility gets bought it's even worse cause then the new.adm. likes to bring their favs from another facility! And slowly remove the staff that worked hard to earn their spot! I always taught my trainees when this happens if you can survive 6 to 9 mths after them your good to go! Really sad isnt it??!! Nursing has such a high turn over rate it's crazy . At one point I did pediatric vents in home I loved it . But after I had my fourth child Hilary clinton dablled in some of the insurances that covered disable kids and a lot of hours and people got cut! So I was agency when I did that . I figured I could pick up a few.hours.here and there at facilities if I need extra xmas.money etc I quickly learned agency nurses were not like!! Here we are trying to keep a place from being super under staffed and we would get crapped on even.more other nurses didn't like answering your questions yet literally would try to write you up for looking sideways!! I only did that very very short term at as.for extra money. As I was single.mom. nursing is a very very stressful life ! You literally have to do it for the love of the patients . Mean daily you could be yelled at and spit on by family members for little things called horrible names and so on and the patients sometime do the same thing!! So why would someone go to a job like this day after.day!!??? Because there were families that treated you respectfully and we're thankful you cared for their lived one or even the family just taking time to listen to them. And other cnas and nurses would help you if ya just asked! And the patients that we're thankful even just for fluffing their pillow ..it's all worth it! I had to retire back in 2011 .do I miss it ..yes but I would chose a diff job in nursing. Or maybe go into ultrasounds but I deff couldn't be a R.N again..sad but true I was in a bike wreck and almost lost my left leg and also a 2 ND wreck almost immediately after I was recovered from the bike. Wreck and my back was broke in six places ..I was in a med can when.,it happens and that was the end of a 22 yr career . Again I do miss it ..but I would not be able to do that job now .my advice to new nurses don't work extra if you don't have to. Stick to normal work week and I'm not saying be a recluse but stick to your job unless asked to help extra . And put away money so that if you get burnout you can take a break and then go back to nursing either way just treat yourself well as a nurse !

Hi! I am so glad finding your video, I have been thinking of going to DEMSN. The program is so appealing and to be a nurse is being always my dream.The problem I have is yes you mentioned to expect some harsh comments and talking behind your back and that is expected. I think I am prepared for that.I hope you make more videos like this because it is inspiring.
