If I make attention to Asian stereotypes I'm called racist. If they do it on TV they get paid.

Well, sometimes they make racist jokes in that series. I'm Mexican, you know, but it's still funny because all the characters, even those from the US, are funny.

Asian is too big of a concept to stereotype. For instance, despite looking the same, I don't think an average Chinese is culturaly similar to Chinese or Korean. M

Stereotypes are true for the majority of people. Asian women being bad drivers- well cars come from Europe and most people in Asia don’t drive cars or cars are relatively new in Asian countries.

It's one thing if he asked for help cause he couldnt afford it but to "demand" it? Money it always drives a wedge into anything. I remember reading about a woman and her nephew who won $1.2 million in this charity lottery, both their names were on the ticket so the organizers followed the advice of the lottery comission and brought them each a cheque for $600,000 to be presented on the news. After the cameras were off, she threw a fit claiming it's her money and that she only put his name on the ticket for luck and she was gonna sue. Ultimately they settled out court with the nephew getting $250,000. I mean that's just greedy. I would think the average person would be thrilled if they won $600,000.

It’s one thing to be treated like garbage by other people, but when it’s from your own family, that’s even worse! Family doesn’t mean Jack if you don’t act like family. I don’t believe the whole “blood is thicker than water” quote as much as “the blood of the covenant is thicker than water in the womb”. Family is about bond, respect, feeling safe and loved not just sometimes but all the time.

That's what I don't understand about the Asian culture. Where does your family get off demanding you to do something you're not obligated to do just because your family?

People are uncomfortable with grief and always try to "repair" the grieving person...with or without permission.
@ashebennett772617 күн бұрын
I’m so sorry! I can’t believe people can be this disrespectful. They didn’t even ask for permission or respect your wishes that you want to keep things as you want to remember your daughter in your house! You’re not in the wrong. At all. Grief isn’t just some minor feeling and you can’t just “move on” like it’s the easiest thing in the world. What they did was disgusting and narcissistic as well as those who side with them. She was your daughter. That was HER room. They had no right to tamper with it. Wanting your boundaries respected as well as allowing to grieve however you please isn’t “overreacting”. They were the ones who overstepped and need to learn to respect and support all ways of grieving equally. The highway to hell is paved with “good intentions”. This wasn’t about having good intentions, I think it was more on the levels of having some “savior complex”. Is that the right words? It’s very narcissistic. And I can’t believe nor understand why anyone would side with them. Where is their empathy? And trying to guilt you when they’re the ones in the wrong? This is what is effecting you the most and you have every right to go about the way you please going forward. I wish the best for you.
