Wow. You really put that tire in a drill and pressed it against a rag while spinning it? It deformed because you applied a ridiculous amount of heat to it. People have been softening RC tires with WD40 since the 80's. And no-prep guys use it for drag tires to improve traction. Your method was completely wrong.

For crawling on rocks the the flat spot / contact patch of your tires looks a little too big. I’d run a little stiffer foams, this would improve your sidehilling and steering, because the tires then aren’t able to roll too much under load below the wheel. ATB👋

With so much weight down low and the rough terrain you guys are driving on, and those breakover gates, I’d give it a try with 60-80mil below the skid. And like mentioned above, the lower links in the front should be straight and going upwards from the axle to the skid, so that a slide on the links can go on right until the end of the skid, to the point where the weight gets less😊

A major tip for raw noobs. DON'T force those little plastic geared servos around by hand!!! You stand a good chance of stripping the gear teeth! 🙄 Also FIRST thing to do on getting your new toy is RTFM! (Read the F... Manual!) Awesome video tutorial, I did notice that the tire you’re using in this demo is probably not the injora clone reason being is there is no stamp on the side walls, it’s probably a clone of the original clones, all my injora clone tires have a stamp on the side that say Super Swampers Rocks Tyre, I believe these are the original clones. I have bought a set before from Hobby Park brand and they advertised them as injora clones but were horrible tires, they look exactly like the tires you were demonstrating. No stamp on the side wall. The hobby park ones I have the wall tore it was so thin. I hope this info helps but even among clones there’s a difference. Keep up the awesome tutorials 😎✝️🙏🏽☮️

I have enjoyed watching your content and was even going to see if I could come run with you guys next time I’m out to Arkansas (I live in Utah), but I may quit watching if you’re going to give up Squids for BAMF. Sorry to say. I’ve tried the BAMF and the design is horribly flawed. They make a lot of hype over a far inferior product, both in design and in materials, and they also do a lot of trash talking of other brands on various FB groups. SL3D will make you a set to fit your rig the way it is and I think they’re about the same cost if I remember correctly. You just have to ask. The Squids looked like they were working well from what I could see. I actually run a slightly firmer set in the rear of my comp rigs. Also, if you put a little bead of e6000 on the insert before you put the ring in and then assemble the tire and wheel and let it sit over night, it locks them in place. It’s an issue I’ve seen on EVERY brand of insert.
@arkansasrcnewbie
@arkansasrcnewbie 29 күн бұрын
Dude, the glue trick sounds like a winner, thanks for the pro tip. As far as BAMFs go, everyone is talking about them and Injora. I love my squids but like I said, my rigs too heavy! Lol I'll have to put an order together from SQUID 🐙 and see whatvwe can do. Thanks and I expect to see you around!! 🤣🤣🤣 Don't get mad if BAMF sends a pair, maybe a shootout???
@Ginga_Ninja_RC
@Ginga_Ninja_RC 29 күн бұрын
@@arkansasrcnewbie I won’t get mad. Really, you should try things so you know for yourself. BAMF will work, but like I said, the design is really lacking. Almost no resistance to side roll, materials that are not as soft or durable, and the company has showed some pretty poor character. I’ve tried the Injora inserts as well and they’re not terrible. I think they’re a great upgrade for a trail rig or a budget comp truck, but they’re still nowhere near the performance level and fitment of the squids. There are others that do as well or even a slight bit better than the squids, but they cost 2 to 3 times as much. I’ve tried most every brand that’s cheaper than squids, but none of them have matched in performance or quality. Part of the hobby is trying new things, but please, don’t get caught up in hype or free stuff versus what actually works well and is cost-effective. Just keep things real and don’t become a fanboy. Keep up the good work. 👍

Looks like the build is coming together pretty well. I hope it works the way you want it. One personal tip I would tell you is put the battery on the driver side slider. With those axles, the front left tire is your light corner. It’s the one that will want to lift in extreme angle situations. By putting the battery on the driver side slider, it adds just that little bit of weight to help hold that corner down. I promise it makes a difference. I’ve tested it on multiple trucks. with straight axles or a TRX4 you put the battery on the passenger side. It has to do with the rotation of the driveshafts.
