Power Craze Drifter+: Newbie REALTIME REVIEW!!!

I grabbed one today. All the 1/28 WLtoys wheels and tires fit with no mods. Putting true drift tires makes it a lot better. If you take the top deck off the chassis you can see modding the motor would be easy. I was surprised to see a heat sink on the motor. Changing pinion/spur is no problem either. It's all bushings, no bearings. Unfortunately the servo is a 5 wire with a losi style servo saver. :(. The esc is a 2 in 1 with no casing. Just a raw pcb board. It would also be easy to make it rear wheel drive for a true drift instead of power slide. It has metal dog bones all the way around. Definitely not worth $50 because you can get a WLTOYS for that but good enough at $28. You can also shave the steering knuckles for better turning radius. Also the battery is directly soldered to the board. I went ahead and clipped that and soldered in a molex connector. Now I can swap batteries and use a hobby grade charger for faster charging. The included battery is a 1s (3.7v) 550mah with no listed discharge rate.

It is a cool looking one and would probably be a blast on an unfinished basement floor or something when the weather is bad and you can't get out with the other one. For a fully ready to run kit it seems like a deal for $28 just to have something to goof off with occasionally.

@@arkansasrcnewbie I wonder if 3/4 inch plastic plumbing pipe would fit on there? We use to take a piece of 2 inch (I am pretty sure it was 2 inch)ABS plumbing pipe and cut tire sized slices out of them. It would slide right onto a regular touring car wheels to make drift tires back before they were really a thing! It had just enough grip to get the car going and hold slides forever! It was a lot of fun! Not sure if something like that could work for this too?

Got mine for $20 instead of $29 at Costco, it was fun drifting this around. And I paid a 1/3 of the price of a WLToys 284131, which is $60.

I love this RC toy from Costco! It is just $28!! Mean... $28!!!! What a bang out of our dollars. Nothing at ROSS or TJMax has this level of speed and for the price. I highly recommend it in my opinion. I will be buying more just to bash around while my real hobby grade RC is being charge. Also, great for those who want to practice driving around an RC controller until they get to the serious stuff one day. Just my honest opinion.

Ok the body is the WLtoys 284131 body. 100% matching. Paint is the only difference at all. Lights are the same. Even identical locations for body posts. The only difference in these two vehicle is plastic chassis with upper deck vs aluminum chassis with no upper deck. Same servo . Same motor. Wl has better materials to the same components. I'm wondering if the WLtoys radio will bind to it

Worth $28 bucks? Well, just because today in 2023 , 28 is the new 18 I’ll give it that, but Drifter it is not. This thing is awd so it needs some hard glossy plastic tires to get this little ripper sliding around. Also a bit more steering angle too wouldn’t hurt. Still a fun little ripper for rainy days indoors. Did you try it on linoleum, wood or tile yet?

@@arkansasrcnewbie electric tape around the tires is what we use to do to make’em slide. Try that first to see if it helps. Can’t be any over hang on either sides of the tire. Maybe someone with a printer can make some for you…👊🏼😝

Man sad to hear, I would plug it in and fully charge the car. Turn your transmitter on, flick the power switch into the on position (drifter) while plugged in and unplug, see if it binds. Good Luck

Just used a pick tool. And gently pried off holding the body still and was sure not to bend the plastic.
