SLP grad student (starting in August) here! I have polymysoitis and thankfully am on really great treatments - but I just am interested in the medical side and WHAT A COOL COINCIDENCE!!! I had very mild dysphasia when I was at my worst and it’s so wonderful I can help people just like me one day!

Hey Kelly! Thank you so much for your awesome blogs! Would you be able to share how long you’re at work? Like what are your shift times or how many hours a day do you work? I am so interested in the Medical setting but worried that I will have to live at whatever hospital I find a placement at 😅

From graduating with a BS in Public Relations and a minor in ASL, I've always been interested in being an SLP. Now being in the 'real world', I'm trying to decide whether or not to get my MS in SLP. This was so so helpful in what the future would hold. Keep doing these, they help so much! thank you thank you :)

Is there any difference between medical slp and slp...?? Or do they mean the same?
@doggy26304 ай бұрын
medical slps just work in hospitals or rehab facilities specifically! comparable to when doctors specialize in a specific area

I love your videos Kelly! I'm in school for SLP right now and I go to USF while also volunteering for BayCare (love their beautiful hospitals lol)! Do you have an instagram or anywhere I could reach you to ask a couple questions about the medical speech pathology setting?

I love your videos. I see you as an example to follow one day. I have 1 more year left to finish my B.S. in communication disorders and I will continue to do my master’s right after I’m done. I can’t wait to become a Medical SLP 😊 keep sharing your knowledge ❤

you are one of the first youtubers i began to follow which def increased my interest for speech pathology. at first i changed my mind and thought maybe ill just pursue ultrasound tech but i just knew that wasnt my passion. i am here to say now that i have applied to the pre speech program at western kentucky online. hopefully when i get into that program after i will apply to their masters program (: keep up the good work

Another awesome video! Thank you Kelly <3 sorry about the ring, my suspicions also point to the gloves. As always, you make really great points. I appreciate you talking about the tough topics like end of life care and comfort feeding. Geriatrics need a lot more attn and love. I'm also curious as to how you manage so many MBSS! Do they take a lot of time to analyze? I'm curious as to how quickly you have to analyze them and then report the findings and your reccs to the doctors and nurses. I would feel so overwhelmed!

Dude even finishing that race is a crazy feat! That is not even fair of an experience for a marathon - that is so terrible! I have run a few marathons and half’s including New York and train with a team of marathoners, definitely that was just terrible luck with the weather and has absolutely no indication of your fitness- it sounds like you are super ready to rock a marathon! If you are interested in another marathon where you are trying to make a time goal I highly recommend the Eugene Marathon!

I love that you’re an energetic SLP who likes to train because I am a marathoner/distance runner and I’ve wondered if SLP would be a good career for me or honestly if it would too boring (don’t know much about the field but your channel is showing me more about it so thank you!). On running- I prefer to just use pants with pockets over a belt but that is not for everyone. Also my favorite pre-run snacks/fuel is a banana or apple sauce pouch because I also do not have time to cook and that’s so easy to grab. Great work on getting that training in especially also taking such good care of your fueling and such!

I want to try apple sauce pouches as a pre-run snack! Lots of people love them!
