If you need the updates and patches for Windows XP you can use Legacy Update, even though Legacy Update includes some of the driver updates.

Dell D series has some interesting features. A 3.5 inch floppy drive that works as an internal drive or a external drive over USB. The D port with pcie is the real gem though.

The inclusion of the intel video graphics is a real limitation on this machine and you won’t be able to find any modern operating systems for it. Windows XP runs well even when fully updated. There does exist a basic video driver for windows 7 that can be manually added. You won’t get aero but at least mpeg playback will work and get full resolution along with the ability to standby. Of Linux I’ve had a recent version of Debian before but it isn’t exactly what I’d call stable. If your choice becomes Linux you will have a hard time just from the lack of 32 bit support these days. Blink and you’ll miss it because above that pcmcia card slot is a smart card reader. I own this exact model and mine is in perfect working condition. If you’re interested in using windows 7 I can help with that video driver. It wasn’t exactly easy for me to find the last time I needed to find it.

FT Wayne is one I have always avoided just due to the fact they want to extort $$ for parking. yes I know its not the hamfest but the building doing the extorting but I really hate extortion. like you want me to spend money to come to your city to spend money but then you want to extort me for more money coming to spend money in your city.. well ya can just f off and get 0 money from me. I used to set up at a few of the fests in east central indiana but gave it up after the east central Indiana hamfest due to all I set up at this year and last year I lost money it just ain't worth it. might be why the FT was so skimpy people like me giving up cause we can't make any money.

that guy at 1:50 had high prices, I was looking for HDDs and scored some deals. dude at 2:28 i got several from him(HDDS) really nice guy, guy at 4:19 I got one of those towers for $5, thing was a B lugging it around especially all the way to the parking lot...especially since we parked by the left entrance and they made us go in the right entrance this year.... SMMH walking with one of those towers that far LOL How long have you been going to this show since what year?

@@ewaste_andy yeah its hella depressing ive been going to this sale since i was a kid, it was INSANE back in the day...the room we went into that was like half empty in current times? that was full to the brim plus the divider was gone, like wed walk in to the doors immediately to the left of where we paid to get admission tickets. Instead of walking down the hall a bit to the door AND there was a basement area that was full as well. I will still go until they stop having it tho biggest hamfest besides the whole in the wall ones that isnt hamvention..need to get to that one

@@josephwhittaker2065 the PPC macs are my all time fave, but the early gen intel Mac's are great for certain things, I'd highly recommend trying out Linux distros specifically built for the first couple generations of intel macs! You'll most likely get an overall better experience from a Linux distro built first and foremost for these early intel macs
