What micro did u use? Or what radio can i buy on ebay 4 this radio ?

I had purchased that model radio on eBay, I haven't plugged it yet working on a home base antenna. Question: Do I need a meter for that radio, or can it work without one?

For those that don’t have a construction calculator it’s just Pythagoras theorem. A squared plus B squared= C squared… Square the 20 ft( I.e 20 x 20) = 400 and then square the 30ft ( 30 x 30) =900 then add the answers together I.e 400 plus 900 =1300 and then run the square root of 1300 which equals 36.055 ft or 36 11/16.. Sorry, I’m in Australia so it’s easy for us we just use millimetres so it’s super simple. I’m not 100 % sure if this is just as easy with fractions of inches that your tapes measure 😬

I've owned 2 and just scored a third one. Yea, I like these radios. My first one was was from the late 70's, modded right out of the box for extra channels, and I reached more contacts with that radio than I did with any other. That's not saying much but it did better than than the Regency before it and the Cobra after it.

I just bought one these on OfferUp for $20. I had to replace the switches. How does your preamp work? Mine seems to do the opposite, when I turn it on my RF power goes down. Turn it off and it goes up. What does yours do? Not sure if this is normal or there is something wrong with my preamp logic.

I believe the pre amp is a mod, mine doesn't have that feature. Mine also only swings for about 100-120W. A transformer mod exists for these that makes them way better, trying to find someone that would be interested in doing it

@rockyfrance4 ай бұрын
@user-mv4nt9xk4i that was all done prior to slab being pored. All the conduit were plugged and flush at floor height so we could pour tilt panels over them.

Am thinking once that is done electrical and plumbing go base on the framing for concrete, correct?
@rockyfrance4 ай бұрын
@user-mv4nt9xk4i exactly! In this case, the Surveyor left us all the building corners as well as all the column placements throughout, so the utilities had plenty to reference from to pull measurements for their projects.

These radios had it all but also had issues.I knew several people that had them as well with problems. Worked OK for a while in my 18 wheeler but developed problems. My radio would not stay powered up unless I pressed down on the top of the case. Everything was tight inside as well as a good power supply and ground. I sent it out a couple times to get fixed and nobody could figure it out.
