Hi Willie, I've noticed that the firewall options are somewhat limited compared to a GWN router gateways. I'm also interested if Grandstream has a plan to revamp their firewall options like what Unifi is doing lately.

I have the button for my cloud gateway max but the files download as a TAR and when extracted they have no file type. i changed the extension to .pcap and then .pcapng but neither were able to be opened in Wireshark (file type not recognised). Interested to know how to look into them....

Great video -- thanks for sharing. I'd be interesting in seeing if there is a way to get detailed log information for WAN1/WAN2 failovers. I've got a UDM Pro Max with an intermittent issue on the primary WAN port. It's failing over correctly to the WAN2 connection, but other than the graphs, I've not found a convenient way to capture detailed failover times. Are you aware of a way to do this?

My UCG Max on v4.1.13 has the button. However, a client's site with Pro Max switches does not. The Pro Max switches are on v7.1.26 and their Cloud Key G2+ is on 4.1.11. I checked another client's site with a UDR and it has the button. The UDR is on v4.1.13, just as the UCG Max is. All 3 sites are on Network v9.0.108. So, I don't know if it's the OS version, the devices' firmware, or both but it appears that OS v4.1.13 may be one of the requirements. OK. I checked some more sites. UDMs that are on v4.1.13 have the button, but the switches on the current GA v7.1.26 do not have the button. Also, when I look at the EA releases, I don't see a switch version newer than 7.1.26.

USW Aggregation (7.1.26.15869), no option. UXG Pro (4.0.20.16883), no option. Unifi OS 4.1.11 (checked for updates, nothing - UK based, so perhaps I don't get 4.1.13 yet?). EDIT: Is this an early access release channel?

If you use this access point with PoE you need to size power budget correctly. Even though the datasheet states this AP uses "only" 7.5W, mine are rebooting because it sometimes consumes 10W+. Grandstream needs to document better its products. I am using 2x GWN7604 with GWN7002 and I need 24v 2a+ to correct powerup these devices.

Hello, I would recommend you test this router with DPI and other applicatin features enabled. It is a terrible surpise. To enable application detection and traffic monitoring you need to disable hardware acceleration. it is not documented in the datasheet (only in 2 lines in the user guide) and it is reduce the hardware performance too much. it falls from 1gbps to 100mbps. I would recommend you to run performance test against this device before recommend to your audience. My recommendation is: do not buy it.

I have set up the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system on your Grandstream UCM6308A and uploaded own voice prompts and set ivr on inbound rule. when i dail a number record voice can be hard but the call is not routing to the correct extensions when i press the associated digits (like 1 for reception or 2 for accounts). what did i made mistake any idea?

Industrial switches seem to be lacking in their VLAN config simplicity. This one seems to suffer from those same issues. It's one CLI command in Ruckus to tag or untag a port. I'm over setting PVID's and other non-standard CLI commands. Aruba's newer gui and cli interface is garbage too. Sorry - I identify as "randomly angry" today.

I personally like and use Moxa branded industrial switches more. The ones with an RS-232 or E/IP port on it for pulling switch status info into SCADA or machine HMI for hardware status. They have been great switches and the best of the 5-6 industrial brands I have tried. One of the coolest switches I think they have is the MDS-G4012 and MDS-G4020 series. They are sort of "switch racks" and have option module slots to configure the switch layout as you need. You can add dry contact modules that can be used to trip something in a PLC directly, or isolated power modules to have specific set of ports power isolated from the rest of the network, so some machine stuff can be on machine power and the incoming ports are on plant power. Or you can add PoE capable ports or not, or even groups of SFP ports or not. Really cool switch features.
