These things are epic. We need this here in the states. I keep saying we need a car that never changes, cheap parts and abundant everywhere, year after year.

zYes, but they still out perform the best off roaders to date regardless! It's called pragmatism and they are quite tough and durable.

Awsome project. Usually the brake pedal needs to be engaged to go to drive in electric cars. Is that bypassed in your build?

It's beautiful, congrats! I too aspire to own a niva someday, an older one like yours because I don't like the look of the upgrades in the newer models. Both my grandfathers had one. Looks great, no unnecessary tech bullshit, easy to fix, affordable, just what I need. You take good care of it!

Just one more telling you what U should do😂 instead of drilling the body just make new custom brackets and mounts to fit original bolting points. Because of what it really is (collector item) only because of its history tools papers and so on so I would make them mounts to fit original bolt down points

great ... Polish Fiat Lada compact --door city cars of the 1970s were also lovely and really fine vehicles in their own rights ... speaking of going full EV on this little beauty, why not ... but your idea of going hybrid is even better imo ... and yes, you keep the original engine and parts as well, just in case ... just great ... i really love this mini SUV thing! 🚐💞💕❤🩹💝

The crank is meant to stir sticky oil at low temperatures. While you do this, you put the headlights on in order to warm up the battery in order to run the electric starter - this really works. Then -25°C (-15°F) or less won't be any problem. I had one. t sticks to the road at any condition, doesn't do evil things other 4×4s do.

Cards with years are from mandatory yearly safety inspection - drivers in USSR had to take their cars to the experts within the police, who would determine whether the car is safe to drive, and issue a card like that. Then the drivers usually placed that card with a year clearly visible from behind the windshield, so the road police can tell it is not expired without stopping them.

LADA engines are fine and last easily 200.000km with proper maintenance. Also that engine probably needs rebore, new pistons, bearing etc. its probably no good after being neglected clearly

That region thing is pretty funny. And that is how life plays tricks on us when we try very hard to avoid something. Hello from Russia. About those documents: There are a bunch of vehicle inspection coupons. Some kind of vehicle data sheets and inspection results. What is printed is an urgent telegram announcing the death of a person and the location of the funeral. This is a notice and invitation, practically. The death of a father is reported by the mother of the person who received the telegram. 11:52 It's a memo. Instruction on how to use the meds, how to store it properly, basic stuff. 13:15 Ammonia solution. It's destined for treating insect bites as well as being used in various medications and as a cleaning agent by itself. Ammonia's effects on the body are caused by its local irritant properties. It triggers the sensitive nerve endings in the upper respiratory tract (trigeminal nerve endings), which stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor centers of the brain, leading to increased respiration and blood pressure. In high concentrations, it can cause a reflexive respiratory arrest. This substance can bring a person back to consciousness by putting a bit of it up their nose.
