Jimmy, can you recommend a good accurate longbow that’s non-custom..I’m a 30”draw..thank you!
@jimmyblackmon7 күн бұрын
The accuracy depends solely on you. I have never owned a bow that wasn't capable of more than me. Take a look at the Tomahawk bows at 3 Rivers Archery. Tell Jonathan I sent you.

Nice video! I feel your pain with the move and losing track of things. We have been going through boxes off and on for a year now and just discovered a little box with arrow stains and bowstring material and serving material. As you can imagine, I have been missing those items!

I have had target panic for 11 - 13 years and through numerous brain surgeries and got explanation seemed to mirror my problems. I know that I have problems with my bow arm pushing forward and my release arm slightly plucking. It is obvious and my bow arm seems to drop and sometimes it remains straight. I will work on that first and see if I can unlock it and keep it pushed forward as a release mechanism. Thanks for your help. The brain is our best friend and our worst enemy. Rick

One of the methods I use which has helped greatly is using a spiral fletched Flu Flu arrows. I have issues shooting at the same target all of the time, so I have found that by walking around my yard with a Flu Flu arrow and picking out a dandelion, leaf or any other object in the yard I am able to control the shot. It puts the enjoyment back into shooting. Try different methods such as only doing this for a practice session several times until you are confident of your shooting form. Good luck and good controlled shooting !!! Hope this helps.

It’s about time I see a you tube video correctly speaking about grip. You tube can be a terrible place to get info as new folks won’t know who’s advice to take. This is correct.

The old stuff becomes the new stuff sometimes, when important things start to fade into history. There is so much to learn from legends like Denny and Jimmy. Didicated people who never forgot about the fun part of their passion are out of fashion now but they will remain a rich source of knowledge and motivation for some anyway.

Jim well explained, I shoot insrinctive and thinking of trying gap, but I have a question, you were shooting on flat level ground, how would it work when shooting up or down hill? For example how could i gap shoot at a 3d animal say at 20 yds. On the flat my gap would be about 15". Any thoughts that could help please.
@jimmyblackmon4 ай бұрын
Great question. It's no different than shooting pins on a compound. Gravity will take effect. You always have to cut distance (up and down), but with a traditional bow, most archers under draw when shooting uphill (thus low), and overdraw shooting downhill (thus high). You just have to get out and experiment with it. There are many variables, including speed of arrow, weight of arrow, etc. Hope this helps. We have a full segment on this in our coaching package ROOTS at The Push.

Has anyone of you experienced that target panic accures only on certain distances? In my case, up to 15 yards i can anchor all day long, past the 15 yards it gets more difficult with every yard i walk further back ( i shoot "instinctive).

I have not noticed that, but would not surprise me.
