Just seen this video and this is sick! I dig the manual set up on top of everything.

I agree with Jillian, tires and sliders and go. When I first started out, I was told to get sliders here in Southern Nevada area due to all of the rocks/boulders on many trails out here. Sliders are necessary to save your rocker panels and pinch welds. I heeded that advice and am SO glad I did. I only did dirt roads until I got my first set of sliders. Then the first day out on them I was so glad I had them as I used them a lot the very first day. I was so glad. I had some older Mickey Thompson Mud tires on my Xterra when I bought it, and those were next to be changed out. They were on their last year so I swapped them out for some Michelin K02's and never looked back ever since. I love the K02's and have Never gotten any flats with them. So yes, Sliders and Tires and GO!

I have the base model v6 4x4. just took it out on the trails for the first time yesterday, and i was blown away by how well it performed in some dog shit conditions. had it all, dirt, gravel, mud, rocks, even without the rear locker, she took it all like a champ bro.

Would love to learn more about the current suspension set up on your truck! I saw your set up on the Tacoma Beast Channel and like the idea of variable suspension on my truck. Thanks for sharing!

Great truck. Hopefully your 2016 has not needed the frame sealed and software updates, and most recently the entire engine removed to replace the timing cover sealant. I love my 2016. Also have the same color. But wow Toyota definitely worked in a few defects for us.

Nice setup, similar to my setup on my Toyota Hilux here in Australia. I wear my thongs (flip flops) up the ladder and then kick them off to the ground or use the boot holder bags that hang off the sail tracks as you have. I don’t think there are any roof top tent ladders of any brand that don’t hurt feet!

Most of those Toyotas were probably made in US plants by US workers. Any " American " vehicle you buy probably more than half the parts were made in other countries...

Looks very capable! Did you have to cab mount chop or do any trimming to fit the 33s?

I also open my tent driver side. But I mainly decided that because of taco lean. It helps keep the head higher than the feet.

Is there a window at the top like a sun roof? do you have to take the rain fly off to see the sky or is it inbuilt? And Can you attach the step ladder on the other side if you choose to?

I have the 2020 TRD Off Road in the same color! Has a power driver’s seat and Apple Carplay plus keyless entry on passenger’s side for the first time! Has tech package with paint colored rear bumper but no heated leather seats or LEDs however! Also no 360 degree camera. Already cost me $39k plus! Haha Love all these mods. Brute Force rack is really nice. Different from the ones people are going with lately.
