Hi, My girlfriend and I want to travel around Oz by bike aswel, how do you find the size, weight and height of the DR? Did you lower yours? Have you had much experience on bikes before the DR? I have quite a bit of bike experience but more concerned about her.

Hello, I am thinking of buying the Africa Twin DCT model 2025. I would like to know what techniques you use to handle the bike on the ground (due to its somewhat heavy weight). That is the only thing that makes me doubt the purchase and I would like to know your expert opinion. Thank you very much. A hug from Spain.

Guglatech - After 5 years took it out to inspect it, nothing in it. Our fuel here must be very clean. FYI These filters trigger the auto-cut sensor of the station pumps during refilling - so you have to trickle the fuel in. Takes ages. Other riders get tired of waiting and leave. Eventually we took them out. Good luck.

Between the AT and the TA; i would have liked the TA; it's new, light, nimble and spirited but the Suspension Kit and Ground Clearance is a bit of a letdown. So, it looks like the Mighty AT. Me reservations are about it's age: 6 years. Any wear and tear issues i should be worried about? I'd rather be on the Road, than in the Garage. 🥴

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🔌 USB Charging of the Sony RX10 - USB charging is vital for travel to eliminate carrying extra charging equipment. - A micro USB port is utilized for charging, found on the left side of the camera. - When inserting the USB, it doesn't click into place but rests lightly. 01:13 ⚡ Power Monitoring and Camera Operation While Charging - Utilizing a USB power monitoring device shows the camera draws 1/2 an amp when charging. - Turning on the camera interrupts the charging, demonstrated by the yellow light going out. - Camera indicates it's operating on USB power with a charge symbol on the rear indicator. 02:00 ⚠️ Gentle USB Insertion and Power Draw Limitations - The camera restricts its power draw to 1/2 an amp despite the power brick being rated for 2 amps. - The USB cable should be inserted lightly and not be pushed too hard. - The camera indicates charging with a yellow light which requires a few moments to illuminate upon plugging in. 02:53 🔍 Difference Between USB and Sony Multi-Port - Distinct visual differences exist between the micro USB and Sony Lanc multi-port. - The multi-port has a second locking press, requiring only light insertion for USB charging. - Detailed comparison includes narrow 5-pin and broader 10-pin connectors. 03:21 🔄 Charging Duration and Power Brick Comparison - Charging via the mains adapter took 3 hours and 26 minutes. - Using a 2 amp USB power brick, which drew 1/2 an amp, took slightly longer (3 hours and 46 minutes). - Charging was step-like in the last minutes, cycling one minute on and one minute off. 03:45 ⏱️ Charging Efficiency with Andoer Charger - The Andoer charger charges at 1.2 amps and provided 1250 milliamps of charge after one hour. - It progressively ramped down the charge until reaching 0.2 amps at the two-hour point. - Even after disconnection at two hours, the camera displayed a 100% charge. Great video, really inspiring. So much so Ive entered this years' safari on my own G650GS Sertao. Ive fitted 606 on the rear and Pirelli front, and have hit the gym as you advised. I am a novice/average dirt bike, but have had a Teneree and an MG NTX650 for years. A couple of questions: 1. Pants - enduro or waterproof 2. neck brace - worth it? I'm wearing a AlpineStar Bionic armour under my jacket, and looking at he Alpinestar BNS 2 3. Knee brace - old knees - are they a benefit, thinking of Bionic 7 or Leatt V22. 4. I'm getting a 15T front sprocket fitted, the shop was surprised I asked for a 14T and talked me out, is it much difference? regards Phil
@2Meerkats Жыл бұрын
Good man Phil👏👏👏 1. Enduro breathable is best combined with full MX boots and a camelback. I find MX pants too sweaty on the long days of the safari. 2. Neck brace is applicable on fast sand get-offs. I did some training with Birch and he likes neck braces but I find them really annoying with some helmets. Coller bone injuries/breaks are caused by older helmets with straight edges. Modern helmets like the M10 have mitigated this with their detent. 3. I use Pod K8 these days and they have saved me a few times in mud/clay. I would spend on knee braces before a neck brace as my knees are meh. I have also recently gone for an light AStar M10 carbon helmet and 100% Armega Googles for Summer heat and cooling 4. Cool - the shop mech never rode a Sertao in a safari haha - I carried the stock sprocket and swaped it over after the last day to ride home on the bitumen (defacto 6th gear)

The suspension has to dialed in for compression, rebound and preload - ie for your weight - I am under the 80kg limit of the std factory springs so they work for me. Riders who are over 80kg need to get a stronger progressive spring on the rear and new fork springs.

Thanks for sharing this awesome mod! I was able to implement this on my 2022 ATAS DCT by changing one bolt on the factory brush gaurd to a 1/4"-1-3/4" long bolt and nut ( added a small vinyl cap to the end of the bolt threads). I've seen someone who tapped into the hydraulic system and factory ABS also on Utube. I asked if he considered using the parking brake system. It seems he doubted it being effective enough for down hills etc. To be fair I didn't explain that my interest was only to use for turning a DCT motorcycle as you are doing. Looks like you have successfully demonstrated the parking brake conversion (much simpler) for low speed turns! 👏
@2Meerkats2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Noel - for me - Going downhill on dirt (I imagine a steep hill)and applying the back hydraulic brake would lock up the back wheel and step the rear out - as there is little weight on the back in a downhill. So normally on a downhill, me personally, i am 100% focused on modulating the front and ideal is ABS off or minimal ABS so I can lock up the front (where all the weight and braking traction is at) if needed. This system (my system) of using the cable rear brake (with left hand) is more about controlling the AT"surge' under initial small throttle inputs in slow technical steering situations where my foot maybe down or transitioning on or off the pegs - where other riders would use a clutch to modulate their torque..
