Always had a soft spot for the old lightweight, had a 1984ish ex-military (Cardiff University OTC I think it was) 109 a good few years ago which was good fun too. With my current Discovery, the MoT guy reported that it had an oil leak and then added "but it's a Land Rover !"...I guess it's when they don't leak that we need to be concerned.

I do like the gull wing box, but you need to properly weave the molle pouches to ensure a secure system, particularly if you intend to do some serious off-roading. I have an Ex-MoD Wolf that I am gently improving, good luck dude.

Love it, we are currently saving like mad to buy ours , like the fact you can have roof bars for paddle boards or kayak as well We are already planning and want a back box, for the bbq and outdoor seating, also love the finish of your worktops , it looks like carbon fibre, is that a standard option ? Subbed 👍🏼

I have recently lost one of my bushcraft knives to the police as our knives are now becoming illegal to carry full stop it’s getting harsher can you possibly make a video on good bushcraft knives that we can still carry on our person that are legal I used to always carry my mora carbon steel for just harvesting birch bark etc while on rides n my mountain bike but I was caught harvesting some dead birch bark and it taken off me even after I explained it’s used as a tool if I had a smaller knife I would put myself at risk of injury with such as a folding knife etc

I have wing mirrors to see out the sides, and it doesn’t block any of my rear view mirror either.
@NOXStellans5 ай бұрын
@@LifeofMikeOfficial I should have written "rear side window." I was considering the view when looking back over your left shoulder-' Not crucial, but considering the options... Perhaps you opted wisely for curbside access when parallel parked to avoid traffic?
@LifeofMikeOfficial4 ай бұрын
Yeah exactly that, I keep recovery gear in here. If I pull over on a U.K. road and have this gullwing on the right side of my vehicle I would be standing in the way of oncoming traffic which is dangerous. So rear left side makes sense 👍🏻

You need a 270 degree awning, I got a 23zero one, best thing i ever put on. Also a small fold down table on the back door is so handy for cooking.
@oldbloke2045 ай бұрын
Sold my 270 deg. awning a while ago as I never used, it just added more weight up top, never good, made more wind noise and likely used more fuel. I would maybe get a smaller one but these days we use a stand alone awning.We tend to set up in one spot and then go and do things from there.
@ike82365 ай бұрын
@oldbloke204 Had a smaller one 2.5m by 3m I think which was fine but the 270 one can be set up without poles quickly if just pulling up for lunch somewhere and packs away pretty quick too. Yeah, it is a lot bulkier, but for me I sleep under it too, plus room for table and chairs and cook around at the back door. I like the stand alone awnings but they don't fold down small and will have to go on the roof racks so it probably creates more drag.
@oldbloke2045 ай бұрын
@@ike8236 Yeah the free standing ones are better, mine wasn't so was a pia to set up, but they're also heavier. I use a tent and I like to base camp so that a kitchen etc can be set up and left in place wherever we are. Horses for courses for sure and plenty of 4wd'ers here in Australia use them. Personally I would love to have a lightweight off road Poly trailer that could go anywhere my vehicle could go but they're very expensive and I just wouldn't use it enough. Certainly plenty of options these days. Cheers.
