Yep... Bigfoot was a good game, the controls were tough to master though on the different events, but once you got that figured out, that part of the game was cool too. Not sure what they were thinking with the control scheme, it really made it a chore, but pretty cool if you got everything figured out. It was a rental for me though and never had an instruction book and so I never did figure out the controls until more recently playing the game in a retro collection aspect and the Internet to reveal how the controls work on the side view events, so I used to only be able to play the top down parts which was still fun.... knowing the controls for the other events, which are still tough even knowing how that works....there were a few games that had strange controller setups, but the ones for the side view events on Bigfoot may have been the strangest ones that come to mind.
@_Sergmanx_7 күн бұрын
I do agree that the controls could’ve been done much better. Once you get the hang of the game it’s not too bad. I can understand why a lot of people get frustrated with this game though.
@mymusic33547 күн бұрын
@@_Sergmanx_ yeah I remember being frustrated over the controls on the side view levels, never could quite figure them out completely until many years later with the internet or course even knowing the controls it's still challenging because you have to be quick and thinking about what you're doing so your truck doesn't overheat 😂

"The CPU can be an asshole" haha, so true! Nice job, there are some great picks here. I actually imported Magical Hat back in early 1991, from Diehard Gaming (the shop owned by the magazine guys,or the shop that would later become a magazine.. you know what I mean.). I was on an import kick ever since I found out that I could trim off the cart slot tabs to get MD carts to fit, and EGM said Sunsoft wouldn't be able to release BATMAN due to Nintendo's rules (though, of course it came out the next year. :P ). A few other Japanese MD imports that I own, that I would suggest for hidden gems: 1. Devil Crash MD (This, is of course the MD port from the TG16/PCE Devil's Crush/Crash game. WIth enhanced bonus graphics. redrawn sprites, and some excellent Technosoft (Tecno Soft?) music, to help fill out the package. I loved the TG16 game, but I think I like the MD port even more. Especially if you count the hidden bonus music (entering passwords to unlock them. You get music from Elemental Master, Thunder Force II, Herzog Zwei! Some people don't like how they added a sidebar, to make up for the extra horizontal resolution, but I actually like this. It's helpful in knowing, at glance, which bonus stages you still need to complete, as well as some other useful stuff. 10/10 for me. 2. Rainbow Islands EXTRA (Incredibly arcade accurate port of the TAITO classic. Unlock some later ports, it retains the copyright-infringing "Over The Rainbow" chiptune rendition. It's a tune that you don't think you'd miss, until it's taken away from you. It needs to be there! It has a few difference from the arcade, some good, some strange, like the first level being at night(?) instead of the daytime, with a black BG instead of blue. You soon forget about that, with everything else looking for colorful and awesome. 3. Marble Madness (Tengen MD version). Sure, the EA USA port of Marble Madness is OK, but Tengen went the extra mile to replicate the arcade version. They also don't shred your hearing (depending on whether you like the music of MM or not), with screeching treble, this sound SO much better. It also controls better, and even has support for Sega's MD Mouse (not the Genesis Mouse). The MD Mouse has a special feature where you can turn it upside down, and use the mouse ball (hah) as a trackball of sorts. I haven't had the pleasure, or displeasure depending on who's reviews of it you've read.

Thank you for the recommendations! Funny enough as of late I’ve been on a big import kick. I’ll definitely check out the games you mentioned. It’s still nice even after all these years to discover games that is relatively unknown.
