🎉Great "real" video 😊 and I love your enthusiasm for the game, keep it going. So 2 things and you'll be below 90 in no time. 1. Putting: you can't be 3 and 4 putting, especially on your home course. Learn how to read putts and work on your distance control. Your goal (for now) is only 2 x 3 putts per round ; all others should be 2 putts. 2. You're getting to your left side on the down swing, however you're finishing on your right leg thus moving away from the ball as you hit it, hence the shots going off to the right. That's 6 to 8 shots saved just on this round. Watch your video and see how you fall off almost every shot, look at good players, they don't.

Who in their right mind would want to spend 30 minutes watching a KZbin video of a 28 handicaper playing golf??? Just came here to write this and not watch the video. Don’t get it. Just goes to show that there is a KZbin channel for everything.

Your swing is actually pretty decent. If many of your driving balls go to left, check your grip which could be too strong. Make a neutral grip.

When this video first popped up I thought why do I want to see someone hack around a course but you just have to sort your wedge game and that handicap is coming down very fast. As Niall said, good driver and good putter. Excited to watch the journey.

Cheers mate, really appreciate that. When I first started the channel that was one of my aims, to show that high handicap golf isn’t always what people tend to think it is. That we can still play a decent amount of good shots but the bad ones just tend to be a lot worse 😂 Anyway, thanks for watching and the positive feedback. I’m actually booked in for a lesson tomorrow so hopefully that might be the start of some solid improvement 👍🏻

I love the content so far. I am curious what tee box you are playing from and the total yardage for the course from that box. If I were you, over 20 hcp shouldn't really be playing longer than 6000-6400 yards. My local course has 4 tee boxes and from the 3rd back (blue) it is about 6400 yards. The whites are the second back and are about 5900 yards. Pretty easy course. I don't have an official hcp, but i keep track of all my rounds on my gps app. It shows me as 11.2, but I don't feel much better than you watching your channel. I think the biggest thing is just avoiding anything past double. I don't remember the last time I had a snowman on my card.

@@fenixdown2396 glad you’re enjoying the content so far. I was playing from the green tee box which is the first tee box and measures 6,400 yards. That was certainly one of my better rounds to be fair on quite a tough course. I would think you’re quite a good bit better than me if you can’t remember your last snowman 😂 Thanks for watching and I hope you continue to enjoy your golf 😃

Long time watcher, first time commenting….great watch again. Good old matchplay moments. Taking the penalty shots poor form but more annoyingly saying Conor is a single figure handicapper is wrong he’s 10 and only when he’s 9.4 he’ll be a single figure golfer. ✌🏻

All you ever see is content from scratch golfers etc. Would rather see videos from high handicappers like yourself. One thing I hate is watching videos of game improvement clubs being reviewed by people they are not made for. Someone like a 28 handicapper trying out 4/5 game improvement iron sets to really see some numbers that would be close to the target market...

lovely course great video,your swing needs abit work first watch back your video see how your practice swings you keep you balanced(but when you play your shot you try to hard to hit the ball often lifting your head to see were you have hit it ),one thing all swings need is balance practice moving side to side shifting your weigh from your front leg to your back leg and then back to your front leg.what your doing is leaving all your weight on your back leg causing you to spin around. lastly before you play use two clubs together and swing them for ten minutes will help you to slow your swing down and use a black line on your ball to line up your puts

Thanks James, I appreciate the feedback. I especially like the idea of using two clubs together to slow things down. Although I’m not a fan of the line on the ball for putts. I tried this for a few rounds before and found it far too distracting and actually made my putting worse. Much prefer to line up my putts by eye. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

It's one of my favorite courses, but it's so underrated. Your long game is way too good to be playing off 28. You need to work on your chipping, weight of putting, and, most importantly, club selection around the green. With a better short game, you would be playing off 18.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper 13 күн бұрын
Yeah very underrated although I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about it who’s actually played the course. People absolutely rave about it. And cheers. To be honest, this was one of my better long game performances. It also helped that the course was quite open when I did miss big. However, I’ve found that my biggest hinderance to lowering my handicap is that my long game can be very inconsistent. My worst rounds this year have all been because I really struggled off the tee 👍🏻

Interesting video. Thanks. I think your handicap is way too high though. You could easily play to 18 on a good day. Your handicap is supposed to represent the best you can possibly play to. Keep going and it will come down quickly.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper 15 күн бұрын
Thanks Simon I’m glad you found the video interesting and thanks for the well wishes. While I’m delighted to hear that I look like I could play off 18, this just isn’t the case unfortunately. The handicap is just an average calculation based on your best 8 rounds out of your last 20. My best round of those 8 is a 19.8 with the worst being a 27.8. The round you just watched was the equivalent of a 23, and that’s one of the better days. If you look at the remaining 12 of the 20 rounds (the ones that don’t count), I regularly shot low to mid 30 handicap equivalents. In fact, I’ve handed in 63 cards since I took up golf and only twice have I ever shot a sub 20 so there’s no way I could realistically play off 18 yet. But again, thanks for the comment and watching the video

Good stuff again Jamie. Its a nice touch you give us the yellow pin illustrations on blind pins. You may consider occasionally incorporating an odd still pic of where the ball lands directly after a shot, 13:41 for instance. You can obv just take the pic as you stroll up to the hole naturally. I know its more editing but even twice a round just to add an extra element in production. Great coverage all the same, audio spot on too.

Great 2nd video,pity jamie you seemed to lose concentration for the first 3 or 4 holes then a great recovery. As a player who doesnt p.ay a driver or hybrids myself, when the driver goes off its better in my view to use a 2,3 or 4 iron,lose distance for sure but stays in play. Otherwise great play and well done. Would loved to have seen the end tally shown.

Thanks Oliver, lost my way a little bit at the start of the back 9, literally felt like o forgot how to play golf for a few holes. But honestly that sums up my game and shows why I’m the handicap that I am. If I can just manage to find more consistency I know I’ll shave a few strokes off. By end tally do you mean final score? I don’t think it would have been too reflective to be honest as we both conceded a couple of holes without even getting to the green. In terms of stats though I did shoot 4 pars with some good looks at birdies so a few positives 😃
