Enjoyable video as always. Arklow is a cracking course and still have fond memories over it when I played in December. Decent golf in there. The misses left happen to me as well. I find it's when I let my arms do the work rather than turn the body though the shot.

Yeah it’s unreal. It wasn’t a great day but particularly on a sunny day it’s hard to beat. Sorry I missed you when you were over but glad you enjoyed it. Will hopefully get a round in sometime in the future Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻

Good to see you back. I too had my first 9 holes of the year a couple of days ago. It was a .... 'mixed'..... performance. You certainly made it harder without a rangefinder, but you have the shots in your game. The trick is putting them altogether in the same round. It will come. Thanks for posting. Best wishes from Sussex, England.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Жыл бұрын
Thanks Tom, much appreciated. The lack of rangefinder was definitely a hinderance. Not nice standing over the ball with no concept of yardage. I have enough doubts in my mind already, I don't need a new one added into the mix 🤣 Best of luck with your game this year mate and keep in touch

Welcome back. As commented last year we are in a similar position. I too broke 90 in September after just 12 months of playing. Haven’t got anywhere near since. My goals are close to yours. By September 1st: Reduce handicap from 26.7 to 21 Break 90 twice And. Definitely. Play OKAY GOLF! Play well. Will be watching 😉

Cheers mate, it’s good to be back 😃 Congrats on breaking 90. It’s a good feeling isn’t it? Just annoying we can’t follow it up 😂 Shows that we can do it though. Thanks for watching as always 👍🏻

Delighted you’re back on the you tube malarkey and more vids are on the way. I’m delighted to hear your progress is exactly the same as mine a year on! Who knew golf is hard! I use the fancy schmancy arccos app for distances and have been flummoxed on the course when I’m out and realise it’s still in the car! Good shooting and can’t wait til the next vid! I hope you hit your new (old) goals this year! Sound was great too and great edit too. Good luck for 2023!

Cheers mate, it’s good to be back. Hopefully I’m here to stay 😀 Already have Episode 2 filmed so just need to edit it now 💪🏻 Golf is bloody hard. I definitely underestimated it when I first took it up 😂 I have Arccos too but I actually stopped using it. There’s only so many rounds I can look at how many fairways I’m missing or how many three putts I had 😂 Ignorance is bliss. Thanks for the positivity and of course, for watching 👍🏻

Like all the other watchers I agree your golf is getting much better, but as we all know your golf can get better but it's still seems hard to get a good score . Here's to the new season 👏👏👍🏴 And just like the rest of us we need to buy a box of provisional balls 🤣😂🤣
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven. I'm sure if I can keep up this performance the scores will naturally improve. Although I've been saying that for 2 years now 🤣 I very rarely head to the course without stopping for an emergency set of balls. Notice on the 8th tee box how I had that reload in the back pocket instantly ready?? Fail to prepare and all that 🤣🤣🤣

Glad your back. I can definitely tell that you have gotten better even though scoring is hard to come by. Your drive was better, not slicing just a few pushes, and it looked like you was was crushing it. Also contact was a lot better. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say your handicap will definitely come down this year!!

Cheers mate, it’s good to be back. I just use a range finder and when not recording footage, I use either Arccos or Hole 19 on my phone. Excellent video,sound was perfect and the course looked great. Have you tried using a 60° wedge in the bunker, you don't have to open it up like a sand wedge, good to use when the sand is wet. Great to see you back.

Cheers mate 👍🏻 Yeah I like the Druids gear. Value for money is exceptional. I mainly just buy those tops and polos. I had a couple of pairs of trousers before and the fit for me wasn’t great. But for those 3/4 zips I wear medium and they’re always fine. Can’t speak for the larger sizes but I’m sure they’ll be grand 👍🏻

Played golf for a year over 12 years ago. Returned to it again in August. Handicap is 31. Was 36. Really enjoyable channel. Is it just time and developing a swing that helped you improve?
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Жыл бұрын
Well done on dropping 5 shots already. Keep it up 👍🏻 Although it doesn’t look like it all the time, I’ve put in loads of practice both at the range and on the course. I think the biggest difference for me is being more relaxed on the course. For about the first year I was incredibly nervous and would be very tense over each shot. But the more I play and practice, the more relaxed I get and that helps to swing easier. Still have a long way to go but it’s baby steps. Well done on picking it back up again and glad you’re enjoying the channel 😊

A good round and very good swing improvement in which your left foot is staying firm. No need of rangefinder, personally dont use 1 because find it more exciting to judge by eye yhen execute. Instead of the driver considering you hit irons well,ever consider a 2 or 3 iron. Get 200 yards regularly with mine and a little distance lost but straighter. Sold my driver!!! Well done.
@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Oliver, much appreciated 😀 Delighted to have gotten rid of the OAFS (Overactive Feet Syndrome). I just feel a lot more relaxed during my swing now. I think that just comes with practice and time on the course. Personally, I do prefer a range finder as it just removes a layer of doubt by knowing exactly where the landing spot is. And in terms of driver vs iron, I think I'm slightly more reliable with the driver than Irons off the tee. Definitely get way more distance and my push with the driver is less severe than my hook with the irons in terms of misses. Thanks for watching

@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper thank you and just a suggestion if you'd like fluidity in your swing try out the gold flex or orange ball as a training aid,for me it makes a huge difference to tempo and great exercise. Thanks for your reply
