I don't think it's possible to fasting from others story lines and perspectives, even though you don't go on social media or watch TV. Then you will have to live on the country side and not be involved with other people.

Yes, if you try to just sit and clear your mind you'll start having thoughts, images, urges etc to go do other stuff... if you ignore this you start to see the thoughts up their efforts and you start to get the feeling they are not originating from yourself but from elsewhere.... after the thoughts "up their effort" and you get that feeling, the thoughts become aware that you are aware they are "pretending to be you" and you get the feeling they're like "Oops, the game's up" and back off. The random thoughts always come back though, and always side track you back into feeling the thoughts are yours. It's weird as hell, try for yourselves.
