Love the outcome! Apologies if this seems rude, but I do have a question: with all the time and money spent on this rig, is there a reason the engine was left alone? I know the new gearing helps, but we all know Toyota V6s are very doggish. I'm not a Yota buff, but I'd imagine throwing in an LS or Toyota V8 would be better suited for the desired goals with that tire size. I've seen dudes throw blowers on them, but spending $8k for 60hp-80hp is ridiculously inefficient. Simply curious! Thank you
@DirtGarage20 сағат бұрын
@ericsea7783 Because I already have a V8 swapped Toyota. The 4L V6 in this has plenty of jam, with re gear still cruises uphill on highway without gearing down. Helps that this truck was tuned to help with low end torque.

I’ve been trying to figure out the right coil to run on my 5th gen 4Runner to handle full bumper and winch weight. I never thought to use a dual spring coil like that that I can adjust at home, I’ll have to do some Summit shopping thanks. Looking forward to seeing you tear up some snow in this when it’s done

Ive been looking at engine swapping my 90 4runner but I'm unsure what engine I should go with, I'm caught between 4 of them. The 4bt cummins, the 5vze, the 2.4L, and a small block chevy for it simplicity to work on

5VZ, fact its bolt on, and every bit as easy to work on as SBC. Plus you will rarely have to do any work on the thing!

Ive installed a ton of these at work and the price tag always blows my mind. Sometimes the extra wires change the functions much like those colored plugs. Flip flop them to have the DRL on always(night+Day) or only during daytime etc. They are cool but I would never pay like $1200 for lights haha.

We do a similar swap here in Iceland all the time but we space the brake disc back to its original position using a spacer and longer bolts to bolt the disc to the hub, hope that makes sense but the outcome is similar, I imagine with our way we never have issues with the rims touching the caliper and the splash shield serves its original purpose

damn I wish I could find that clevis on your old master cylinder. The style thats on the new one you installed bends when under too much pressure, I was wasting master cylinders left and right for a while.

I was watching another video about auto recovery when alone and he mentioned lockers for your trucks. Well I’m not an off road four wheeler but always had a four wheel drive truck and I’ve been around trucks fabricating bodies and welding for many years and never heard of lockers. I can’t believe I have never heard about them till today. But I’m glad I found your channel. Keep it coming. Good stuff. ✌️🇺🇸
