All these commenters are old ass fedora wearing, Mountain Dew drinking state elitists. Melbourne has changed. If you're judging Melbourne on the content in this video, don't, the quality is shit cause you guys only had like 480p then but whatever

infact hell of a racist town , skinheads everywhere and so so nazi prone , they just wouldn't show you what they did to the aborigines people , how they contested to chop off as many aborigines children head as they could whose body were buried alive underneath ground except their heads , and how they enjoyed watching aborigines suffered to death after they took their penis and testicles away by bare hands , and ofcourse they would gang rape a aborigines women and tear her vag into pieces

@bryanite What am I talking about? Hydrofoils. You are right that the world doesn't run on Hydrofoils. That's the problem Lady. The Habour was good but they had to get rid of the best part. The problem was that the habour was too piss weak for Hydrofoils. They barely got Foilborne apparently. That's why they should put Hydrofoils on Port Philip Bay.

The weather in Melbourne is random and unpredictable. Melbourne is far from having the best weather in Australia. But in terms of people, food, entertainment and modernism, Melbourne is the most superior. So ask you self what is more important, the weather, or the quality of the city you plan to live in?

Melbourne is much better than Sydney. Sydney sucks. It lures you in with the false promise of riding on a Hydrofoil and guess what....no freaking Hydrofoils. It's unjust. If you want to know more check out "Hydrofoil - The Musical" (shot in Sydney)

if you are a newcomer to Melbourne, aka, Crimeland you should take the advice of the Victoria police chief and I quote "look as poor as you can...Don't display your iPods, don't display your valuable watch, don't display your valuable jewellery. Try to look as poor as you can to avoid being assaulted..." Beware there is rampant, serious and vicious crime in this city

Sydney's also an expensive place to live. Otherwise there's little difference between them. Where you want to live in Melbourne on the otherhand depends on your intentions here and on your financil standing.

I've lived in Melbourne nearly all my life, I've never been assaulted or attacked and I've walked down dark empty alleyways in the heart of the city at 2am. IMHO Melbourne has more attractions/distractions than Sydney however Sydney's visual appeal on the waters edge is very high, if you can afford to live there that is. Sydney's more colourful with fashion, Melbourne tends to be very grey. Melbourne is renown for its restaurants and night life.

Although I love Sydney and think it's a great place to visit, and live provided you can afford to live around the bay, I do think you're on the right track setting sights for Melbourne. Sydney can be a bit expensive sometimes. As for Melbourne suburbs, I would suggest maybe Brunswick, or similar/near. It's multicultural, connected to the tram network, and well known for it's indie scene. Basically, a good place to make a start. (Lickmylovepumpp is right, stay away from Frankston... it's a hole.)

There's a lot of options in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, for work and housing and stuff. Perth is a nicer city to be in, but housing there is hell expensive I think. The Gold Coast is near Brisbane, and has really nice housing and stuff, and awesome place to be. Personally I think Darwin is the nicest, I'm there right now on holiday, but as a software engineer you might not find that much work there.

if you have just moved to Melbourne from a third world country and you long for home, just take a ride on one the trains. From the view out the window- dilapidated buildings, rampant graffiti and vandalsim, rubbish everywhere,- to the trains themselves- dirty, slow, smelly, antiquated, unreliable and plagued with crime- you will be convinced you are in your third world homeland.
