Problem with the SF Zoo is that they haven't evolved like the majority of the Zoo's around the US have. A perfect example, or multiple examples are the exhibits and buildings ( Tropical Rain Forest Building, Pachyderm Building and Lion 🦁 House), that were built in the late 30s and are still there. Zoo's constantly are rebuilding to make them look more naturalistic. SF is the only Zoo on the West Coast with any Historical Landmarks attached to it.

I took Amtrak train trip from LA to Sacramento it was a 14 hour trip up and 14 hours back. Now I want to take a trip on the California zephyr from Emeryville CA To Chicago IL.

Sadly I did not make it up there for the Carnivale event again! To busy but did already set up my trip there in October for Winchester Mystery House, Pirates of Emmerson and Great America Tricks and Treats event. Did that last year and had a great weekend out there. I always add that All Parks to my Knotts Pass...even going to Great America just 2 times for a few hours and getting 2 free meals with my meal plan makes it so worth that extra cost!
