It's unfortunate to hear you got taken advantage off so many times in your journey. From my experience the language barrier still plays a huge role here, even though it really shouldn't. As others pointed out already the "correct way" to deal with these kind of issues is to report companies that give you contracts where you work more than allowed on a regular basis to the authorities, but I don't blame you. Doing this in a foreign country without money is really hard, but chances are it will prevent people from falling for this in the future. Anyways, I think you did the right thing in the end. I wish you all the best for the future.

It's good that watched it. Apparently, life gets pretty rough to everyone, but as we are focused on ourselves, I sometimes fall into the illusion that it's specifically me who has bad luck. Nice vid, keep it up 💪

Hey young lady, chin up. You have a whole life ahead of you. This was just a tiny fraction of what you experience. It was a bold move of you to go to another country. Trust me, it wont be the last time you going to make a leap of faith. I wish you all the best. In terms of Germany, well it is going towards a downward spiral. Complaining about staff shortage and then go about to pay minimum or under minimum wages, its disgusting. I packed my stuff after 30 years of Europe and Germany.

That experience you had with your work situations are so frustrating, but sadly common in small business and for foreign job-searchers. And I hate thta german got so corrupt. I'm pretty sure you could worke somewhere in a creative job, like a marketing-agency or a theater behind the scenes, or maybe even a library? But service is always hard, even as a nativ speaker and you seem to be stuck in the wrong place/city. I really hope you'll find finally a good company and I'm wishing you the best of luck!!🍀

my experience is so similar to yours. lol I'm studying here, bsc Molekular Biology. And finding regular work is so hard. :( I've also started a youtube channel, and hopefully, I'll be able to also get some income there. for some reason the job market in Germany is worsening, I speak fluent german and it's still bad probably because I'm a foreigner. idk. its hard lol i recently also just got a letter from the insurance company saying I owe them 500 euros lol. it's alot.

It's not just you. I have lived 10 years in Germany and this is exactly the nature of most companies here. I also got tired and left the country as well. Germany is not ready for skilled immigrants, they are only out to exploit desperate people who need money. They have little respect for quality work and service. You know what they say, Germany doesn't know anything about service what so ever. Congratulations on getting out, it's an absolute win! You earned a new subscriber and I look forward to your journey.

This is the kind of immigrants Germans WOULD like: white, don´t do any problems, allow themselves to get scammed and stolen from, never complain at blatant illegality, work for minimum wage or below if possible, no contracts if possible, oh, don´t forget to also jack up their rent so you can steal some more of their (limited) income, also, their German has to be PERFECT. Their problem? These people do not exist.

Hi Erika! For me as a German, it hurts to admit, but there are quite a few things, which aren't that pleasant in Germany. Employers can be one part of it. Being originally from Trier, I can understand your issues. The main problem is that you have a 100k inhabitant rural city or let's call it town with not so many job opportunities as in other cities such as Hamburg. Still the way your employments/jobs turned out is quite disappointing, sorry to hear. For me being a student, I still cant grasp upon such things like working full-time in a qualified job and having to care about the health insurance, since it's covered by either uni or parents. The biggest issue depending on where you are in Germany is the seeming necessity to speak great german, which often is a buzz killer for many internationals. Sometimes, I feel, like you would need to understand the german system better, e.g. if it comes to "contract negotiations" which unlike in quite a few countries arent as open and individual so that you could for instance demand a way higher demand and I also feel that employees in Germany are conditioned to think that it takes some time if it comes to experience, promotion and status even though it will change in the next decades. So maybe, you could've avoided a few of those things, if you would've informed yourself about a couple of things like job definitions aso :) Still very brave of you to deal with all of this and not only fighting for the worth you know you have but also daring to go new paths. Overall Im quite sorry to hear about all these negative experiences. I hope, you dont hate Germany after all these. And of course I would love to hear more of your next adventures :) Whole-hearted Greatings Peter

I mean, it's even hard for high qualified germans to find jobs. That's why almost no one gives up their jobs, once they have one, even if they don't like it. And that's why this company is probably right, they would easily find someone who is better qualified than you (no offense), who is desperate enough to work for less. And yes, living of costs are high here, taxes are high, wages are low. The only thing that's really good here, or lets say better than elsewhere, is social security and health care. I can't imagine how hard it is for foreigners to make it here, if germans themselves are already struggling that much.

@cntrainingcoachingcommunic59005 сағат бұрын
You should have given the actual working hours instead of saying you had a mini-job. Reality counts for the insurance, not the label. So the employer has to pay his part of health insurance for these three months, which is the most of the complete rate uf your income was below 2000€ per month. You still can tell them, your status for these months will be corrected.

good luck with everything! Hamburg is a great city, which I also moved not so long ago. My wife works as a graphic designer here, and it took quite a bit of time to find a starting position. Knowing the language was a great benefit for it.

Hello Erika, I really enjoyed the video. It really reminded me of my days when I was younger (30 years ago) and had just got out of the U.S. Navy and was in the job market as a civilian for the first time in my life. It was really stressful learning the new job and a new city (New Orleans) but I muddled through somehow, but I did dislike that it seemed like I was muddling and everyone else seemed to have a plan, it made me feel 'less than' somehow. So don't worry, what you're going through is pretty much the norm for a lot of people, life isn't easy but I think you're going to be just fine and I went ahead and hit the 'Like & Subscribe' buttons to show my support. I think you're an impressive young lady and definitely need to continue with the YT videos, most people don't have the right combination of honesty and charisma to do what you're doing. We're all rooting for you. Just something to remember- Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26 Erika, you got this! you're going to be just fine : )

Quite often in pubs, it isn't the most qualified who gets a promotion, it's the person who is there the longest. I think that the owners should send new "managers" on some courses, either on-site or remotely (there are plenty of good courses online). It definitely has to do with skill issues. Good managers need to be able to work with people and have a neutral point of view separated from personal opinions and feelings.

Let's face it - you were treated like sh*t three times in a row. Not speaking good german rules out a lot of good job offers in Germany and then you have to compete with a lot of english speaking foreigners and the companies decide to abuse these people because there are a lot of them. Very sad.

The Germany sucks 😅 Netherlands is better. Ireland. If you have EU citizenship. Belfast Notern Ireland if you don't as ll Isle of Man.Isle of Man is lovely. Zero unemployment English speaking zero crime. You have physical to come there to find a job. Everyone get a job in Isle of Man. Douglas is capital town.. Isle of Man is not EU. British, Canadian and US citizens although not officially find "better" treatment than others regarding immigration. Belfast is lovely best citiy in the UK to live affordable as well.. Living In Northern Ireland count towards citizenship in the Republic of Ireland(EU) and the UK. Both two passports in the same spent. (5 years) but quality of life in the north of Ireland is more affordable and more fun (night life) Republic of Ireland is expensive and boring.. There are English speaking countries in Europe with lower unemployment rates with good standards of living. To be honest you need at least two to five thousand euros pounds in saving to start with. Another options are Nordic countries. They are expensive but more fair than Germany. 😊 You can use English. Under one percent unemployment rate are Faroe islands not part of EU and oland islands. Part of EU.

Se hawwe my binnen twa dagen ûntslein. Jo sille in baan fine.

I will say Portugal was nice, I really enjoyed Lisbon and the Pasteis de Nata (custard tarts). But, like Spain, they can get hot you know. Still, not all of Spain is so hot. The northern part isn't bad. But to visit, Seville and Granada, Andalucia has SO much history it's an amazing place to visit. I was there in May 2022 and in mid-May we saw temperatures of 40 degrees C! But ... 14% humidity! Olive trees as far as the eye could see. You don't have to go during the summertime, go when it's cooler. Sweden ... did a bicycle tour from Stockholm west and around Lake Malaren. Beautiful area but Erika ... the Swedish language is NOT easy to learn. It is supposedly a derivative of German. I speak decent German but struggled with learning even a few words of Swedish. That Scandinavian twang just changes things. The ABBA museum in Stockholm was awesome and Swedish meatballs *with* lingonberries ... lingonberries are the key ... are very good. Finally, the U.K. Well, England specifically ... I loved London. Such an international city, so much history, very easy to get around in with the Tube system. The English countryside was nice, though they grow these 8 foot tall hedge rows along all the small roads in the Cotswolds. From the seat of my bike I never could enjoy the view as it was almost always blocked by hedges! If you ever go to London, try the clotted cream ice cream. SO good! By the way, coming full circle, I mentioned Lisbon's Pasteis de Nata in my first sentence. Portuguese bakers have been moving to London and you can find Pasteis de Nata in London now! 😋
