It doesn't surprise me that the IBM Wheel writer outperformed the competition since IBM back in the day was considered the Cadillac of Office equipment and known for being a leader in innovation. Take for instance, the IBM Selectric, sometimes nicknamed the golfball typewriter. To call it an mechanical marvel and complex design is an understatement yet it was the work horse in many businesses across America from the 1960s well into the 1980s when the personal computer began to take the place of typewriters.

I just got a Mamiya ZE my only issue is doesn’t changing the aperture Change how the pictures composure too? Like if I want a portrait in 2.8 but have to do 5 to get to the right shutter speed. I recommend when you feel there's no more resistance, give it a couple more turns to ensure the whole film is in the canister, to prevent accidentally pulling on it, ruining your photos. I understand the person in the video left the film lead out so they can use the film for future demonstration purposes. Kudos for showing how to check if the film is advancing properly though! Checked out your other videos, I love how you show the more technical facts of film cams! (Like Technology Connections)

Great video, thank you. I was going to buy a usb version to transfer install files to my win95 pc because it cant read the cd’s I make. I suspect its because they are 50x speed cd-r. Now I will use my zip disks. If you do know why I cant get my win95 pc (OSR1) to see cd’s that I make, let me know. Probably a rookie error. Its using an external HP CD Writer from around 1995-7.

Thanks so much for the very detailed video! I'm getting my 1st typewriter today, it's a Royal 200 in a really good condition. It even has a carriage guard piece! The typewriter is in Vietnamese language so it's got a slightly different layout for special characters and diacritics. I really enjoy the experience so far.

The OM 1 has regular TTL metering whereas the OM 2 has off the film real time metering. Brilliant cameras. I had a OM 1 and used to shoot kodak high speed infrared film with it. They really impressed my classmates at college. In fact my classmates used to ask me advice more than the tutor. My cousin on the other hand works for the Independent newspaper and even though the other photojournalists were using Nikon and Canon he had two OM 2'S With motordrives!
