I'm a very late convert to NW. I was listening to a reaction video of their Phantom of the Opera and stopped five minutes in and decided "nope let's listen to this properly" found the full End of an Era album an listened to all of it except the strange guy near the end in his fancy dress and pipes. Her voice is one of a kind and one of the few that touches the soul. By this time she had learnt the operatic style of voice and by EoaE had perfected the blending of her operatic and belting voice. It was horrific and unforgivable how the band treated her and also deprived the world of many more beautiful works of art. I don't think that either Nightwish or Tarja have been the same since NW without her voice and Tarja without Tuomas composing genius (he may be a great composer but a jerk for the way he behave towards her).

This was the time before they got bit by the vampire.

I can’t believe I saw this…. Well, just over half of it, my lady at the time was quite sick from what we were drinking together, she was braver than she was able to drink that day, and it was my fault for drinking so easily and not telling her she doesn’t have to drink the same, sucks being a bad influence by exhibition. It was amazing to hear it from the camp ground so clearly for the last 1/4…. Unbelievable performance! I wish Tarja was still the singer, it should have stayed on course with this style, it changed too much. Thank you for posting this, don’t take it down! This show was amazing!

I was there! From what I recall, their gear had been sent to Sydney instead of Melbourne, so they were playing with rented instruments! It was the first time i had seen Nightwish and one of the most ecstatic nights of my life. The Corner Hotel is a small pub venue, and was totally packed with screaming fans. I found myself swept up in the emotion of seeing my favourite band for the first time when Tarja emerged on to the stage, I started screaming, "we love you! We love you!" I was half deaf by the end of the night, but felt like my life was complete. At the end of this tour, the band handed Tarja the infamous goodbye letter, and Nightwish did not return to Australia until they had Anette. Incredible times. So good to see this video after 18 years. ❤

I saw NW first time live in 2005. NW was the best band in the world that year. They are still very good, but it's very interesting how every year and tour is different for all bands.
