How often do you grease all these points, The wheel being taken off would be done maybe once or twice a year, that for residence only for me.
@thedangersonАй бұрын
The grease points all have different specs that you can find in the manual. Unless you are running it commercially, your once or twice a year is probably sufficient. I always grease everything during my Spring preventive maintenance and then reassess mid-summer based on usage. I mow 6 acres every week.

You mentioned you replaced the belt and fuel filter, which one fixed the bogging down issue?
@thedangerson2 ай бұрын
Ultimately, it was the fuel filter. Although if you know that you recently hit something while mowing, you very well could have stretched your belt which will manifest in slippage or bogging down, especially in higher grass. In line with an old shop quote "Go cheap, go easy", I would start with replacing your fuel filter, then sharpen your blades, then get a new belt (if needed). Good luck and thanks for watching.
@matthewbenson5822 ай бұрын
@@thedangerson awesome thank you! Which belt did you end up replacing as well? The deck belt or drive belt?
@thedangerson2 ай бұрын
I replaced the cutter deck belt. That is the one that will stretch if you hit something significant. The belt will look and run fine cutting light stuff, however, it will be just a biiiiiittttt stretched so that when you hit thick grass it slips under that load and the blades won't cut. Took me a while to figure that one out. I usually have 2-3 belts on hand at all times. There are a couple of good online sources so you don't have to spend lotsa money at the dealer or for Scag belts. Good luck!
@matthewbenson5822 ай бұрын

Thank you for the video. It is very informative. I see you used a black colored O Ring. In another video on U tube, I seen another mechanic had a Blue colored O Ring. And after some research, the Black O Rings are subject to deuteration by the ATF 4 chemicals. And I also found that green and yellow colored O Rings are manufactured to withstand oils and chemicals. This was the first time I seen a Blue colored O Ring. I think the video was by klowmy1960, labeled Leaking GM Transmission Cooling line Disconnect fitting.

Hmmmm.....interesting about the O ring colors and what they are made of. I used what I had on hand. Seeing as my truck has 326k on the odometer and I have a tray full of those black O rings, I will probably just make it a yearly change. I would be interested to know what the "real" O ring part number is.....and what it is made of. Thank you for sharing, and watching.

Is there a reason you need to level it? That looks like a pretty flat, level field. We have a Suburban camper. and camp in small, often uneven forest sites. We do a lot of sightseeing, so come and go often from the campsite; leveling every time would be tedious. We find the flattest orientation on the campsite, and as long as my head isn't too much downhill when I sleep, I'm happy.
@thedangerson10 ай бұрын
I level it so that sleeping inside is more comfortable. Totally optional -- some level approximate, some level exact. I level to sleeping comfort. The good thing is that with the drive on blocks, once you get it set, you can drive off and away and come right back to level. Although it sounds like you have it pretty well set up. Thanks for watching.
