I was there a few weeks ago. I didn't think much of it TBH. I was at the cliff and maybe other areas are nicer. Cameras do wonders too! It really doesn't look that nice in person and there is a fair amount of mess on the beach. I didn't see any hippies there, just older couples mainly and tourists from neighbouring TN. Cheap gift and clothes shops, and a few restaurant are on the cliff, nothing exciting really. Maybe India is now losing the tourist thing......a week in Thailand was much nicer ( and cheaper hotel for same standard and noticeably tidier) and that's coming from someone of Indian origin who loves Indian culture.

Thank you for visiting Mizoram. I would like to tell you that, in Mizoram taxi fare is so high because all of them just carry passenger only in reserve/hire system. You will never get any taxi in sharing system, that is why it is costly. Better is to get bus for roaming around inside the town area of the city. It is quiet cheaper than taxi. The trip where you spend 200 rupees for taxi, it will only cost you around 10 rupees in bus. Anyway enjoy your trip and keep it on.
