It won't save any money
@kjfacilities-maint16 күн бұрын
In regards to money saving, according to the manufacturers website, it all depends on how your electric company does their billing. However, from an equipment longevity standpoint, a soft starter will save you money in the long run because it will extend the life of your compressor. A soft starter also allows you to run your air conditioner on a smaller sized generator, whereas if you didn’t have a soft starter, you’d have to buy a larger, more expensive generator.

Here are some things you can try if your hot surface light is stuck on: Reset the power: Turn off the circuit breaker for one minute, then turn it back on. Wait a minute to see if the error code appears again, and then check that the cooktop is working. Check the controls: Make sure all the cooktop controls are off. Let it cool: Allow the cooktop to cool down. Check the switch: A broken hot surface switch on a burner can cause the light to stay on. You can lift the glass cooktop and test each switch. A bimetallic switch inside the heating element limiter can also get stuck closed if it weakens over time. Gently tapping the cooktop might cause the switch to spring back open

If I buy and install a soft start. Do I take off the hard start kit it has?
@kjfacilities-maint19 күн бұрын
If the unit came with a hard start kit from the manufacturer, I would leave it on, and not install a soft start kit. If it was an aftermarket part that was installed to help the compressor start I would disconnect it and see if the soft starter starts the compressor just fine.

Jesus is the only WAY to God, the TRUTH of salvation, and the Breath/Bread of LIFE. ACCEPT Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Sins separate us from God because He's Holy. All sins will be forgiven and erased through faith in Christ Jesus. God you, is alive, merciful, faithful, truthful, and is waiting with His arms wide open FOR YOU! For Jesus did not come to establish a religion, but to become a mediator between God and men.Through the Grace of God, Jesus was given to us by paying the price at the Cross at Calvary. Repent and confess from your heart and through your mouth that you are a sinner in need of a Savior; that He had died for your sins, that He had risen from the dead, and ask that He forgives you and that He comes into your life and become your Lord and Saviour. A sinner cannot save a sinner, only a sinless person can. That sinless Being is Jesus Christ Himself. Through the faith in Christ Jesus, the sick was healed; everywhere He went, He healed the blind, the mute, the deaf, the demon-possessed, raised the dead, as well as performed many miracles; He also walked on water, turned water into wine, calmed the storm with His command, and was raised up from the dead. Miracles are still being seen today! Jesus is our helper, our healer, our refuge/protection, and our strength for when time gets tough.God is standing and knocking at the door waiting for your answer right now because THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS COMING.

Hi Kevin, great video. thank you! I have a 2013 Camry SE that is blowing cold air on the passenger side only. On the driver side, the air is the same temperature as the outside air. The car does not have dual climate control. I checked the actuator attached to the blower and it moves when engaged. If you have any ideas what could be wrong or suggestions on what to try next that would be greatly appreciated!
@kjfacilities-maint24 күн бұрын
Blend door actuators are a common reason for the car air conditioning to blow cold air on one side and hot air on the other. They can be diagnosed with an advanced scan tool, or by watching the linkage move when you switch from heating to cooling.
@RobertBriggsTheTechКүн бұрын
I have the same problem. Only difference is my car is the 2013 Camry Hybrid with dual climate control. With A/C on, blows cold on passenger side vents, and ambient air on driver side. Switch to heat, and both sides blow hot. All other climate control functions seem to work, like changing modes (defrost, front vents, floor), recirculate on/off, and temp (with exception to the A/C on drivers side of course). I've checked both left and right Blend Door Actuators and they are functioning. I can't find anything else that would control temps or how the A/C flows through the driver side vents vs passenger side. So far, every Google search, KZbin video, forum post .. all point to the blend door actuators, but nothing else beyond that. I can't figure it out.

@RobertBriggsTheTech have you checked the refrigerant charge yet? Or tried cleaning the evaporator coil?
@randomstuff7791Күн бұрын
@@RobertBriggsTheTech In my case adding refrigerant fixed the issue. I ended up buying a cheap AC gauge set from Amazon ($41) which allowed me to check the pressure and add refrigerant ($10 can from Walmart). All my research indicated 3 possible issues: 1) the AC sensor, 2) the blend door and 3) low refrigerant. For 1) I placed a magnet over the sensor and that did not help. For 2) I checked the Actuator which was moving. But, again, my car is a 2013 Camry SE without the dual climate control.
@randomstuff7791Күн бұрын
@@RobertBriggsTheTech btw, if you are sure that the refrigerant is the issue (maybe AutoZone or some car shop can check the pressure for you?), you can also buy a refrigerant canister with a built in pressure gauge. I think they go for around $30. The reason I decided to buy the tool gauge set is because I don't plan on selling my Camry so I might need to add more refrigerant in the future.

Will a hard start also allow an AC unit to run on a generator?
@kjfacilities-maint29 күн бұрын
I would recommend a soft starter if you want to run your AC on a generator, a hard start Kit does provide a larger starting torque however, a hard start Kit that is not properly sized for your compressor can actually overheat the compressor and shorten its lifespan whereas a soft starter will actually increase the lifespan of your compressor, and I able the compressor to start on generator power.

Great video. I'm trying to run down a problem on a 5 year old Rheem RH2V6024STANJA unit where the air handler is sometimes kicking the fan on even when it's not calling for AC, sometimes fan turns off but comes back on after a few seconds, and sometimes it just stays running without calling for outside unit to come on. Some think it's the X13 motor and some think it's the control board itself inside the air handler. The control board is easy enough to replace but it looks like the board has changed from a part number 47-102077-03 to a smaller board number 47-100436-07. All connections appear to be the same so I would think it was just a running change to something different. In your experience, can this board cause erratic fan behavior if the thermostat and wiring has already been ruled out? Thanks!
