Really helpful as I have been struggling to get VNAV running and seems to be a common issue. Much advice seems to involve setting a lot of stuff that has little influence on this but this video focuses on what really matters to make it work.

Followed your comments and got the RNAV approach to run by ensuring flight directors were set and that the ILS was set in the CRS on each side. Seems that as long as you have these two things as well as waypoints in the FMC with alt and spd settings that this will work as long as the QRH and the winds are close to reality. Interestingly in the 747-800 the CRS is gone and I assume the glide path heading is set from the FMC programming.

Hi, clear diction which always helps. I have followed you tutorial doing manual inputs and some of my settings read differently i.e. v2=124 so have set to 129. Perhaps because of changes since your video. I am really struggling to follow why VNAV and LNAV don't work. Any clues why VNAV/LNAV still won't work. I am going to try again shortly with a Simbrief flight plan just in case. Thanks

For memory there is a red button bottem right on the screen I don't have msfs installed atm :( it broke after last update so I'll be out till next yr.

no u can still use the auto pilot just wont be able to use vnav and lnav u will have to use the heading bug to set a heading and the VS to set the attitude while climbing or devending to Alt its just a little more hands on than the FMC

There could be a number of things. Could be the flight plan has a linking issue, might not have executed the plan on the fmc. Without more info or seeing how you do it I'm not sure. You're welcome to join discord and I can help out later today as I'm in Australia won't be till after 3pm AEST

Nice video. For some reason I do not get that little airplane symbol in the centre of my PFD as you have. I think it's called the Flight Path Vector Indicator. I have tried changing various settings in the game, but to no avail. 😪

Two things. Which aircraft and have you turned off flight assistance when flying paywear planes? Make sure it's set to true to life.

@@JetSimmer101 i fly in the hardest mode with no assistance and it still happens, it follows the route and eventually it stops and keeps making cirkels and the heading select stops working
