I really appreciate this video! 54th Massachusetts is high on my list but that air corps also looks fantastic. Thank you for putting this together!

Worst pens I own , Montblanc, grind on them is awful, they grinded so much of the iridium away that they only left the gold tip..pen skips like you won't believe, I have pens of 1/10 of the price that write much better and have better quality control...can not recommend spending your hard earned money..goes to show how little rich people know about something simple as writing.

Thanks for the review. I have heard that it's best to thoroughly flush out the pen with warm water and a little detergent [ not soapy] prior to use. I'm also looking at the Sailor Fude de Mannen Calligraphy pen. The Pilot's too expensive right now! [£250].

Thanks for the short and useful video on Noodler’s Blue-Black inks. Quite a useful comparison. 👍🏼

Noodler’s Red black should be shaken before filling a pen. It is very dark. I prefer Noodler’s Hawthorne’s Scarlet rather than Oxblood.

Diamine "bah humbug" has a very close base colour but with added red shimmer.

Hi, What catridge converter fits in this pen? Just ordered similar pen, and would like to order a converter that works well. Thank you from a newbie in fountain pens :)
@SorrowisKnowledge5 ай бұрын
It actually takes a universal converter, so any of those or Kaweco will work.

Did you end up finding a replacement for Ox blood? I was going to suggest looking at Monteverde Mercury Noir or Monteverde Jungle Gorilla as a couple of dark red alternatives.

I own a model O, but for some reason the Margin Release key isn't circular and just reads "Mar-Rel". Not sure if this is a replacement key or if I have a rare model of some sort, since I'm yet to see another model o with a Mar-rel key. The shift lock key also doesn't read shift lock, instead just saying "lock"

Beautiful! Lucky you to purchase an authentic Time-Life Lounge chair. According to the sticker, you probably got the first version of the lounge chair since the lounge chair was released in 1960. I am so jealous!!!!

Moleskine was founded in 1997 and named after the book style which had come to be known as moleskine because of Bruce Chatwin. Their site cleverly calls their books 'the heir and successor to the legendary notebook used by' etc etc. Hemingway and Van Gough died long before the company existed. For me, the soft cover plain Moleskines are lovely things a they have nicer paper than the lined books, but I find their hardcovers disappointing. I'd go Leuchtturm for those too. I haven't tried their soft covers, but I certainly intend to after a positive experience with their Bullet Journal hard cover.

Bravo ! Hemingway died 36 years ... and V.V. Gogh 107 years before the compagny behind the moleskine-books was started. It is also written in the pamphlet in the notebook. Clearly this guy can't read..... or just love to lie.

I really love Pilot nibs, esp the larger #10 and #15. I just have so many, so was thinking of getting a 1911L…I have one Sailor pen, a pro gear slim with the typical medium-fine nib - which I really don’t love. I’m afraid I won’t love the 1911L nib either. Do you think all the sailor gold nibs are similar, as far as the writing experience goes?

I have this exact one! My aunt nearly destroyed it by leaving in the rain so my nan gave it to me! It wasn't as bad as this so she saved it in the nick of time. I didnt know how to restore it so I gave it super light sand and applied beeswax coating. Since then I just use regular wood polish. Came out nice, but I will definitely be doing this though! Thanks for the video :)

Cross is interesting since they are the US company that supplies official pens to the US president. That has built their reputation for some in the DC area. US politicians can't be seen using luxury pens made outside of the states.

Hear me out, I found an old fountain pen that was thrown out from my aunt's house. It was corroded and the threads where fused making it impossible to open and fill ink. But I kept it because the nib looks nice and it looked like a relic! Recently, I saw KZbin videos about dip pen and got interested. I remembered this pen and thought of giving it a try. I dipped it in blue ink and started doodling and to my surprise the ink came out a little dark. It had a nice shade of Blue Black which I liked more than the blue ink. So I searched the internet if there is such an ink already in the market. That's how I reached here! Maybe I'll try mixing my own Blue Black ink like my initial happy accident!

I'll forever love my 54th Massachusetts. It's permanent and it's on the right shade of blue-black for me. Plus, I like the funky smell
