Scott you've amazing content, and you're writing is on a whole different level, but your KZbin videos don't quite hit the mark. I'd love something more long form, less stock footage, more frameworks.

Idk bout the intelligence point, I know there’s truth to it I just don’t know to what degree. I think most everyone if given the right environment, opportunities, development, etc. can all be insanely smart. Further, any difference in intelligence after such an ideal situation would be negligible and/or any differences in intelligence would actually only serve to accent and supplement each other as everyone has fresh insights, experience, and perspectives to share as well as differing more readily available ways of looking at problems and grasping the true nature of things. We also have to remember that many kids, even in the United States, grow up with insufficient nutrition to get proteins and such essential for optimal brain development and function. Many kids grow up with toxic parents and cultures and ideals that don’t idealize intelligence. People may also grow up thinking or being told they aren’t smart to which they then seek to validate themselves in other areas instead of working at their intelligence. Even the smartest people, have opinions that are really misinformed. There are many ideas and strategies for thinking that aren’t readily at their command. They can often downplay the intellectual merit of people from down trodden communities who may have difficulty expressing their intelligence and/or have disillusionment with our institutions and don’t even bother with putting in the effort to engage with intellectuals who they think won’t hear what they have to say anyway. C’mon now, we can’t discredit the millions of years of human evolution. In my opinion, we’re all smart. ‘Dumb people’ may have just had lives of stagnation. We’re willing to believe that a person can suffer their whole life in a slum in another part of the world. THEIR situation is somehow justified. But ‘dumb people’, people who may have grown up with different circumstances and parents and communities-their condition isn’t given sympathy?

Why are you using Wikipedia for anything factual? As per one of the creators of Wikipedia, Wikipedia is a combination of ideas, opinions, and facts, making it totally unreliable.

Nicely phrased discussion about basic life habits. I suggest there is a universal aspect to world religions: behave according to the golden rule and building community. You might consider the book Tribal Leadership's core practice of building relationship triads in Foundation 12, Service.

I'm 30 and I feel like a waste of space. I have a degree and two masters, mind you. But I never did what I really wanted: to write fiction. Damn. I think about starting but I never start.

And I bet you know what I'm gonna say; Quit whining and start writing. But it's up to you if you really want to make the first step.
@corgikun257919 күн бұрын
you shouldn't feel that way, there's always skills that are transferable to other disciplines like writing. If you have two masters it means you know how to write formally and done research under supervision, which is great. There's a book by Cal Newport, I think it's "so good they can't ignore you", where it talks about a situation like yours. TL;DR: don't follow your passion and don't quit your current activity until your writing starts making real money. Cheers

Well then, looks like someone upped the production quality. This is some quite nice work, and it kinda baffles me how you don't have more people following you. Anyhow, thank you scott for your lessons and your dedication to this field. Because of you i finally have the ways of learning and a rekindled love for it again, and now i have my own learning project coming up, so i really want to thank you. Best of times scott. You got this.
