Man did they do Jason dirty in the end. The series finished not 9nly with him remaining on the sidelines but getting cucked too. Its such a strange decision after the time and effort they took early on to establish and build their relationship. Zack and Trini were already a thing in PINK, why did they feel the need to do it again in this continuity?

Don't know how you feel about Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury as one show, but I hope you like this idea I gave you.

I mean, Shouma being an alien would make sense for why he might act like he just snorted 20 pixie sticks in a single setting. Because only an alien with a vauge understanding about how humans work from watching TV would act the same way most Always on "Special-ist boy" protagonists do. As for our Secondary Rider(Valen) Gavv already has a chocolate form, so having a chocolate themed secondary rider seems kind of redundant tbh.(Unless the item for Gavv's chocolate form gets taken by this guy, or it's based on a different type of chocolate?) Either way, I wonder will he be a genuine bro, or will he just be another "I hate the protag because he's an overly idealistic golden retreiver, until the final stretch where I suddenly become BFFS with him" type of secondary rider?

I doubt that it would happen any time soon. Power rangers has genuinely tainted the image of tokusatsu. At best it would take at least a generation or something on the scale of Toonami for it to happen.

I'd love to see a video about how to fix PR's reputation. Personally what i'd do, is, do an animated version of MMPR (sinde it sells) but based on the Boom Comics as in certain story arcs and lore, but ultimately take the story seriously, keeping the fun Toku charm but uping the quality of fight scenes and animation. I still dont think the show would be the next Stranger Things, but people would atleast stop using it as an example of an bad show most of the time

In today's society, we dont need power rangers. A lot of people are looking forward for more tokusatsu. We can survive without power rangers. It's damaged beyond repair after what Nickelodeon and Netflix did to the franchise.

I think Toku will become more popular in the absence of Power Rangers because fans will want some multi colored super heroes to tune in to. They will turn to Sentai/Rider and probably branch out further. People who already watch anime will have no issue that its in Japanese. Thats probably the only hurdle is that people dont want to resd subs or cant kee up

I think the topic isn't Toku in the West, but more like Toku in North America (especially US and Canada). A lot of Latin American countries and European countries were getting Sentai, Rider, Metal Heroes (and others) dubs prior to Power Rangers. So if Power Rangers didn't exist, the analysis is how would Toei have gone about bringing these properties to the US. Would they even bring them over? Would they have licensed something like Kamen Rider to Hollywood and make a Hollywood Rider movie? Would they have dubbed the shows? Would they have gone the PR route of filming new scenes and splicing footage as that idea existed prior to Saban doing it?

Apparently, Sentai has been struggling in Japan in terms of toy sales. The show ain't no slump girl tho. Zenkaiger might have been very episodic, but DonBros and Boonboonger don't feel quite as much. DonBros and Boonboonger feel like early ATLA, it feels like a filler episode at the start but you come away with something new about the characters or has good action

Yes, please yes, I've watched both Kyuranger and Ryusoulger, I was excited in the beginning when the Sentai's have PR adaptions, I love Dino Fury for the dino zords and giant battles the only thing I hated was making blue and pink a couple, the Sentai however had red and pink together mostly and Cosmic Fury, again love it but it felt too different from Kyuranger like turning oink into red female and villain characters like Scorpio was more serious and formidable but in PR render into a dance troupe. I still wish they could have brought back Sledge and his crew, Galvanax, and Evox for one last time, would have been cool to see Heckyl fight Sledge and Snide as Dark Ranger.

If Sentai and Rider were or became anime's I guarantee they'd be far more popular in the west than as they are now. Toku's just too niche of a product. That's honestly one reason I think Power Ranger's should go animated. As for dub's yeah....given how much people tend to complain.about them with a lot of animie's I don't see that being popular. Sentai and Rider are made for a Japanese audience let's not forget so certain things would have to be changed for the west anyway and that's gonna make a lot of people mad.

With sentai it would be easy cause people who know pr might try it but with kamen rider there's 2 problems thay pop up 1. Who will it be pushed to 2. Will there need to be changes for it to be shown on tv without making people angry for some reason Explanation for 1: the plots of kamen rider aren't always good for younger ages like geats like come on a show where characters battle for a wish while the losers go to hell doesn't sound like something that would be shown on nickelodeon while the opposite goes for gotchard whose plot is to catch all the chemies before the force of evil can. The plots are so different it is hard to find the right age group to show it to Explanation for 2: some characters looks or names might have to be changed to be allowed in America like the way momotaros looks there will be alot of Christian parents complaining. Or what characters called:vice thought the whole series is called a devil/demon through his whole series and again people will take it the wrong way and what not. So how would you bring kamen rider to America

Sentai existed before, during & after power rangers. Most of the fans who found out Sentai exist stuck with power rangers to get access to sentai merch because sentai doesn't prioritize action figures like Japan & and avoid paying middleman shipping if the zords have serviceable molds.

@@MiXVoy that's fair. I think around magiranger it was a long stretch from there to kyoryuger where it was vinyl figures. It wasn't until toqger they experimented with action figures until they went the 4 inch yudo line during kyuranger.

While I don't think that Super Sentai and Kamen Rider will replace Power Rangers due to cultural aspects, let's not pretend that Super Sentai isn't a juggernaut in Japan. Kamen Rider took a break but Super Sentai has been consistently cranking out 45-50 plus episodes a season and been selling toys, making short and long form movies, engaging in concerts promos, and making TV soundtracks, DVD's, Blu-Ray and soon 4K discs in Japan for the last 48 years nonstop. Kamen Rider has been doing the same for about 40 years with an 11 year break between 1989 and 2000. While the cultural aspects prevent it from being easily exported to other countries with the money that they are currently making, they don't need to export the show. While Power Rangers may have co-opted the name, the Super Sentai and Kamen Rider brand it still thriving healthily in Japan while the Power Rangers has been canceled for lack of interest in the US.

Cause Power rangers hasn’t show anything that the franchise can be something bigger, like something that’s just Power rangers. The whole Power rangers existence has been made from Super sentai, and they had to rely on Toei every year

The issue is Power Rangers has been poorly written and poorly funded for a long time now. Comic Fury is a mastercalls in this consisting of too much content to condensed arcs, thats to say nothing of the suits, cursed things. SMF isn't immune to this either. There should have been a second team with the Legendary Force having. But budget has also been a big issue for a long time. The show needed a bigger budget, always has. Fix those issues, and PR could be better accepted.

@GGX120 Those will never be as bad as MF/SMF and Cosmic, I also made special note of them to make this point. SPD was far better than Cosmic, MF, and SMF, which itself is passable, so it says a lot about Cosmic and MF/SMF in the writing department. SPD at least understood the value of sticking to one story and focusing on telling that, which makes them bearable to watch and at times fun. I do understand Sentai footage can and will harm the adaptation story (which I did advocate for new footage for adaptations) However, without this, the hacks over at the PR writing table can't handle the job of writing original stories. It's clearly too much for them. SMF material was poorly underused, and this prediction thing was just awful. They also should have hired actors for SMF Rangers with a terrible ending. Cosmic had way too much going on in the story that it felt like at least two different team stories crammed into one with a terrible draft ending added at the last minute. Cosmic Fury could have just been about finding a new power to free Earth from the invasion energy dome with the help of various intelligent Rangers and allies, but failing, leaving Zedd to a new team and the story would have been bearable at least.

Generally? No. I'm not expecting either Sentai or Rider to reach anywhere near mainstream awareness in the US. Can it be bigger than it is? Potentially yes. However, a big obstacle has availability worldwide. Yeah, streaming availability as others have said, but even the physical releases so far have been largely confined to the US. Sure, if one wanted to they could import the DVDs/Blu-Rays, but that's not really supporting a local release is it? Ultraman's taken some great steps with making stuff accessible worldwide but even that's not perfect.

It all depends on how Toei advertises sentai/rider to the general public. Loser rangers has a very decent success because of all the "Power Rangers meets The Boys" conversation and Toei could pitch those series (especially rider) as "Power Rangers but dorama" and have it's own niche outside of just toku fans

Reallistically speaking, I get it. Even if we get more eyes on Sentai or Kamen Rider; most of the mainstream "Normie" crowd most certainly would just brush it off as just the "Japanese version of Power Rangers." So Sentai transcending the same level of international popularity on the same levels as something like Dragon Ball, Pokemon, or Hello Kitty. Or even fellow toku contemperaries like Godzilla or Ultraman, is ultimately a pipe dream.

Another adaptation is unlikely, Toei and whatever western studio being approached to adapt it will look at the financial side of things to determine if it would be worth doing. Both Masked Rider and Dragon Knight failed. But in all honestly, Dragon Knight was the last gasp for potential Toku adaptations aside from Power Rangers, in case you haven't noticed, no one is making PR style Toku adaptations, because there is no demand for them anymore, PR is a relic of the 90s that shambled along long after its era ended. There is no need for adaptation of Toku shows when you can get the actual shows. PR didn't last this long because it was actually good, it lasted this long because its source material never ended, and because PR was stupidly cheap to produce, with the producers finding newer ways of making it cheaper.

No 😂😂😂 There's too much of a cultural difference and sentai is super cheap looking compared to American shows so it will never and would never catch on in any meaningful numbers. Power Rangers hit at the right time and cemented itself in American pop culture, and even then, PR is mostly surviving due to MMPR nostalgia.
