I anchored in 3 different pools in Haunaray Sound this year, assisted by the Antares charts, brilliant place, saw plenty of deer including some swimming from one island to another like your footage, and a close up view of a White Tailed eagle, in Eagle Pool! Also managed to climb Eaval. No one else around.

Superb video, brought back many happy memories 😊of a similar trip we did in 2016 (minus the ascent of Tamanaisval). The anchorage between Scarp and Kearstay is well worth visiting if you are back in the area again.

After years, I followed your channel and your inspiration, I made it this year with my 9 m boat, a WINNER 9, singlehanded. From northern Germany, via Denmark, Norway, Shetland, Okrney to Scotland Mainland. Inner and outer Hebredies are explored, remembering your pictures. The point of my return to the north was Dunstaffnage, but until this I visited Sky, Rum, Loch Moidart and so on. After 3,5 month I returned via Wick to Helgoland and at least into my home harbour at river Elbe. After this long time I could say, Scotland s beautifull, but the weather was hard to take for me. It was a long planned journey and your pictures were a really important point to to this. Thank you.

Yay! You're back! Managed to catch a glimpse of Spearax a few weeks back when we were on a road trip south of Oban. Good to see you guys back on the water.

Fantastic to see another video. Always love the scenery and the friendly natural interactions. You also always seem to have great weather! We went for Greece over the west coast this summer which was a bit warmer - but videos like this make me think another trip to mull may be needed. Thank you for all the work k. Editing and posting.

Glad you enjoyed. For sake of full disclosure I have to admit to not showing the many wet and windy days on the videos. Usually because we are hiding in some bolt-hole and keeping our heads down. I am very much a fair-weather sailor!

The castle as you probably know was used in the B&W film 'I know where I'm going' as well as Carsaig Bay
@Spearax Жыл бұрын
Yes. We know that film well and love it. We always have our copy to hand to watch onboard if there is a storm brewing near Corryvreckan! Powel and Pressburger make many of my favourite films from that era. Something magical about them.

Good to see you. I look out for your boat as I drive past Loch Feochan. I hope to be 'out there' soon and sailing north from Craobh. Bill

@Spearax Жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn’t spot the latest comments until now. Hope your trip went well. I do not know who owns the cabin and do not know if it can be rented. Be very interesting to hear if anyone knows. Such a unique spot. We will be back!

Was spearax previously owned by Tom MC Crory?
@Spearax Жыл бұрын
I don’t think so. I think I know name of last 3 owners (over the last 20 years). Seem to think Tom had a Halberdier until a few years ago and kept it somewhere on Holy Loch or nearby.

Hello Both, we have been watching your adventures for two years now. Originally subscribing as Denis Widdop & now on a new computer as Jayne & Denis. Need to add that always as the crew of Ocean Lady, 40ft steel ketch. You have inspired our summer 2022 - we acquired Antares maps, we planned our 4 month trip to the Orkney Isles. Now on our way back to Glasson Dock, exploring more of your recommended loch anchorages on the way. We think your wild life footage is very inspiring. So very pleased you are back again this season and we look forward to more adventures. We recommend you to everyone we meet - now in loch Roe and bound for Stornaway & all points south of there before turning for home port.

Glad we inspired you. As you may know, we based Spearax at Glasson before sailing to Scotland. Glasson is our nearest marina. We should probably know your boat, if she was there in our day. Is she a Bruce Roberts Spray or similar? Hope you enjoy the rest of your journey:)
