Around the nfl hasn't been the same since - didn't realise until Chris died I listened to it for his takes. If anyone made Chris laugh it was genuinely great. A great loss.

Had to pull the car over when Wess first said he was sick on the pod, don't know why it hit me so hard to this this day. Comforted he had such great friends and the wee man will grow up knowing his dad was a good guy.

Lakisha, at this time of year I always think about Wess and I come back to this video. I know the anniversary will be tough, I lost my mum to cancer 12 years ago and she was the same age as Chris when she died. I am just a random fan from Australia, but listening to Wess on the pod, he just felt like a good friend, an important part of my life. I am still so sad about his passing and I just wanted to let you know this random Aussie sports fan is thinking of you and Linc at this time of year. Take care.

Thanks for sharing this with us, it was really beautiful. Chris and the heroes entered my life when i was 14 and ironically, I learned so much about life in those short years from Chris. Linc, if there was one thing that your dad taught me; no dream is ever too big if you follow your heart. From a mailman to celebrated sports writer, anything is possible. Thanks for everything Chris, gone but NEVER forgotten.

Two and a half years almost since the great man passed. I know I'm not the only one who found this video because they've been relistening to old Around The NFL podcasts from when Wess was still with us. I miss a lot about Wess, but that laugh of his was everything.

I’ve never met any of you guys but I feel like I know you all from the Pod. Don’t think I’ve ever been more emotional from a “celeb” dying that Chris. Genuinely hurt me. I love all you guys and hope Wes knew how much us UK fans adored him. RIP Wess

Completely agree, Steven. I’ve been listening to the podcast for 9 years, and without a doubt, Chris felt like a brother. In fact, they all feel like family. I’m from the UK too, and I literally burst into tears when I found out that Chris lost his battle. I miss his take and view on life and watching this video makes me feel happy in celebration of Chris, but also so sad that he’s gone. I have such respect for Lakisha and everyone at the ATN podcast. It’s difficult for those on the outside, but to those who were close to him and knew him personally, I can only imagine what it must have been to lose such an incredible guy. Thinking of you, Wess!

I watch this every time it comes up in my queue. And I cry every time. Chris’ passing is the only public figure that has ever touched me this much. It was clear, even from a distance, that Wes was different and better than most. I miss him even tho I never met him.

I didnt know this channel existed until it randomly popped up in my feed. ATN listener for years, when he passed it felt like I had lost a true friend that I shot the shit with multiple times a week. Its been several years since his passing, but I miss him every show. I'm truly sorry for your loss, and wish the best for you, and Linc every day. Cancer is a scourge that has plagued my family, and I know how hard it is to watch a loved one go through that fight. I cried when he passed, and I cried watching this tribute. He was a great man.

Thank you for making this. It helps with me with the grief of losing my friend, David. Chris also felt like a friend to me, as all the heroes do. They are why I love the sport. Thank you Lakisha, and Chris. Linc, your Dad was a great person.

I watched this again for the third time and can't get over how little time we had a healthy wess. He really fought through so much for us listeners and I know he would always be down on himself for not making longer appearances on the show but that valuable time we did have with him was amazing. RIP wess. We are coming up on the one year anniversary and yet it feels like it was a life time ago.

Just found this. As a UK supporter of NFL for years and of the podcast for just a couple, I'm not sure why the loss of Chris is still so sad to me. It really shows the power of his personality reaches so strong across such distance to someone who would never know or meet him. Incredible piece and a wonderful future memory for Linc.

Dear Linc Wesseling, I’m just a random person from Reading, United Kingdom. Nothing I can write here can can make up for the loss, anger, pain and confusion that you will have to navigate in life because of this tragic loss. But what I do know is Chris (your dad) put so much passion, personality and spirit in to every podcast he did that people like me who have never met him have felt touched and blessed by his life. I hope that you too can find the joy in listening to his work and maybe at times this will be a small source of solace in your future life. All the best Gareth

Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Never had the pleasure of meeting Chris or any of the ATN gang but cannot emphasize just how much you and the podcast mean to me and millions of other listeners. I got into the NFL in 2013 when I left the army and the podcast was the first thing I found as I was trying to learn more about the game. Being from the UK I wasn't exposed to American Football in any way. The Podcast and in particular the personality and friendship that emanates out into the Podcast from Chris, Dan, Gregg & Marc is a massive reason why Football became such a passion of mine. The fortunate position Linc is in is that he has such a catalogue of recordings of his Dad from the content NFL Network have put out, as well as what you have done Lakisha. He'll get to know his Dad all over again and what a man to get to know! I once heard grief is the price for loving someone so much and hearing Gregg say how he loves talking about him and hearing about him and how he doesn't want to hold back his feelings for him is such a great point. There's a little piece of Chris in every person who got to know him and that will leave a lasting impact on all of us. I can't think of a greater mark of a person than that! Love to you, Linc, the heroes, the Wesseling's and the NFL Network family.

I still don't understand. I don't really get how this guy talking about football on a podcast or writing about football for a website could resonate with so many people. You and Chris and your extended NFL family have been so open about sharing struggles and grief and victories that it almost feels like the fans were a small part of it. Every time I hear someone talk about him I get emotional. Its baffling that he was able to make the connections he did. It shows how special he was. Still praying for you, Linc, and many others.

For Linc, I never knew your dad but I sure felt like I did. He was the kind of guy that made you feel like a friend just by listening to him talk. He always took the time to respond to DM’s on Instagram, which is very rare for someone as famous as Wes. He was incredibly endearing and genuine. It’s the only time I ever cried at the passing of someone I never met, it legit took me a day or two of being in a funk to get over. I respected him so much I allowed my own son to be named Weston because we would call him Wes... your dad was a great guy and someone to be emulated. So sorry you will have to get to know him the same way we all did, but it will be enough to love him, of that I’m certain.
